So I just saw that City posted losses that were cut in half from last year. I did some research and this looks like it's because the owners sponsored the team with the stadium naming rights and kit deal to cut losses and boost revenue. So from what I gather is that Man City's owners boosted the revenue by the paying for it with their own money? Is this accurate or am I just being bitter and jealous?

Yea, i think thats correct. Its a loop hole that chelsea exploit as well. City can say the naming rights for their stadium will cost 500m, and mansur will pay that.

Pain in the ass really...

I always knew there would be ways around FFP, i've been hearing about it for yeas but it's a myth.

Charlton will be Premiership champions in 2023.

I can remember complaints when City first sponsored their stadium a few years ago, as the company sponsoring them was owned by the City owners. Not good with FFP or fair on other teams when mega rich owners are shoving money into the club like that through a loophole. Just an easy way around their owner being able to spend what he wants without the club making a huge loss.

Almost God like? Maybe...

City are a fantastic team, but id rather team buy players they can afford rather than their owners can afford.  As soon as mansour or roman walk away, both these sides will be fucked. The whole profitability standpoint they have is bullshit.

It needs to be tighter, even if that means arse win a trophy or two (more than two carling cups and I'll change my mind again)

I couldn't possibly care less about finances. Much like how people go nuts over Raw ratings. It's got nothing to do with me, I don't make or lose money because of it. All I care about is entertainment and since expensive players provide that, I want oil barons to buy all 20 clubs.

I'm with chux. I don't give a shit about how much they spend on their players. If they have the money, then they can buy the players. It seems the only people who ever complain about it are fans of teams who just can't afford the world-class team Man City have.

And if a club is run correctly, it can make profit each year until eventually it can afford to buy the ridicuously expensive players. Is having an owner pour money into the club an easy way to success? Well not neccesarily, QPR proved that.

That's where my complaint comes in, maybe I'm extra bitter cos I'm an Arsenal fan but it's bullshit. If my fat ugly virgin neighbour who I've always been doing better than, won the lottery tomorrow then got a super model girlfriend and 3 Ferraris outside I'd be jealous. It's the same thing here. I'm never one to compliment Tottenham, but they went from around the same level as City and Chelsea to compete for top 4 and be a genuine threat. Chelsea and City became over night success, it's bullshit! And I care about finances cos that's the only way to keep things fair.

QPR might have some money, but they wasted it on absolute shit.

The most entertaining thing tto that will happen to City or Chelsea will be when their owners get bored and leave. They'll drop faster than Leeds as they won't be able to keep affording the wages that they're paying some of their players now. I gained some respect for Chelsea about a year ago when they said that they were looking at making the club self sufficient. No more big buys unless the actual club can afford it, not the owner. That's how it should be.

Also entertainment wise, Arsenal and Swansea both showed last season that you don't need to spend ridiculous money to be an entertaining team. Arsenal have had rave reviews for years and they've not spent big until Ozil at the beginning of this season.

On an unrelated note, I found it hilarious that Jose Mourinho said "West Ham play 19th century football"...

No, West Ham outsmarted you. They are relegation candidates, they needed a point at Stamford Bridge and to be fair, they got it. Jose just looks like a baby throwing his toys out of the pram.

Not to mention a hypocrite, he's made a living off of getting results over fancy play. That was a Mourinho like performance!

Edit: City and Chelsea play on Monday, can't wait for some good old fashion 19th century football from Chelsea.

Them and Man City did us both something bad.

It was terrible, it pisses me off that Arsenal prove the doubters right once again. Just when you think it's all going right, shit like this happens. Just means we gotta beat them in the FA Cup.

Time for another one of these:

BigSix_zpsfc014435.jpg

Chelsea doing the double over us has hurt, but we're hanging in there. Two wins over Spurs keeps our points up, but we can't afford to drop any more of these big games if we're going to stay competitive with Chelsea. I can see them taking all nine of their remaining points, whereas we'll likely struggle going to Arsenal and who knows what to expect at Anfield these days?

It was a great day to be a Swansea fan. We won our biggest game of the season and we have confidence going into our match with Stoke. Great job all around.

Also I want Liverpool to win the league. They are awesome this season and having a new name on the trophy would be nice.

Swansea get a draw and that's four points of six for Garry Monk. Happy with his opening two games and I think our relagation worries are over.

I cant see Fulham getting out. Cardiff might survive but I'm not sure if they can do it. Norwich are going down too I think. Just see nothing about them to say they can survive. But its the premier league and anything can happen.

I hope Cardiff stay up. It only takes an hour or so to get there, so I'm hoping I'll be able to catch their home game against City. Missed it this year because of work, but from what I could see from TV the fans were insane. Amazing atmosphere in that place.

4-6 weeks 2 weeks ago so I'd say another months, knowing our medical team though I wouldn't surprised if he was out until 2015.

I think he does. Brilliant player. I'd say easily the best English player at the moment. When you take into account how much it'd cost to buy a player of his class plus wages, it'd probably work out cheaper than his new contract.
