I hate those people. No ten year old is gonna play like Ronaldo like those idiots expect. If he was the best player on the team the dad should have just been happy with it. Most kids dont make it so if hes showing promising skill should be praised not hindered. No pleasing some parents.

I think the fact that he as the best player on the team made his Dad think he had the right to be a cunt, like it's all thanks to him his son was any good. In this country we take youth football way too seriously, it's not about winning at that level it's about developing their play.

Thats it, Im done...
Im now an AFC Wimbledon fan...
No clue what happened to spurs, a professional team shouldnt suffer the way spurs did today. Avb might have the best win percentage since the 1880's, but Im done with him now.
Our defenders are injured, our midfield has no clue, and we still cant get soldado in.
Pissed off isnt even close. Im off football til the new year.
That's only two weeks or so! 😋

Tottenham Hotspur are truly appalling to lose 5-0 at home to Liverpool, goes to show what happens hen you build a team around your best player instead of selling him then buying new ones. It's not even fun laughing at Spurs anymore, Arsenal top of the league and Spurs struggling? Status quo restored.

I hear Capello is lurking around for the Spurs team, I think he's one of those ancient managers who's way of play is over. That'll be fun.

So West Ham scored the big, late upset over Spurs. Just when it looks like things can't get worse.
Anyway, it's left us with a league cup semi-final that looks like a formality. City have West Ham at home (score!) and Sunderland host United. I don't put anything past Sunderland, but I know where my money's going. Predictability doesn't necessarily make it a bad thing though!

I'd love to see a West Ham v Sunderland final, especially with lower teams like Swansea, Wigan, Bradford etc. getting really far in the cup competitions lately. Swansea are financially sound, but winning a Cup opened the door to Europe and that in turn has made the club even richer, so it's really great to see.
I'm hoping for a Sunderland cup win, just because they are bottom of the league - but I think Moyes wants this competition badly, just to stamp his mark with a first important trophy at Old Trafford.

I read somewhere that clubs lose money in the europa due to all the games and travelling. Even if they win it they still dont break even. Cant recall the source, so it might be bullshit...
If you win games you don't lose money, you actually get a decent amount per win. A few hundred thousand or something. I you lose you get nothing, so those poor European clubs that get hammered and finish bottom of the table with 0 points do lose money from it - and it's probably money that they can't afford to lose.
Plus extra ticket sales, extra sponsership opportunities .. there must be money being made for most European cup teams.

Hildsy boy, where you hiding at?

Hildsy boy, where you hiding at?
I'm here mate. Arse deserved it today, we didn't turn up at all. Out thought and out fought, totally different to the league game earlier in the season, altho both games ended with an Arse win. Credit where it's due, we deserved nothing, and got nothing.

Yeah it was the easiest NLD I can remember in recent times. It's reassuring knowing that we're in a different class to Spurs once more, the closer you guys got to us the more annoying but now you got a lot of work to do to catch up to Arsenal again.

West Ham... It was just hilarious.

I don't think we're that far behind. If Ade doesn't slip in front of goal, then its a different game, if Rosicky doesn't strike the ball quite so well, if Eriksen goes to the far post rather than the near post... It was a game of few chances, possession was quite close, and you took the win. We had all our top players out (Vertonghen, Sandro, Paulinho, Kaboul) and didn't have Defoe to bring on. You were also short of players with Ozil, Ramsey and Giroud missing.
I don't think this game told us anything really, except than on the day Arse deserved it more.
Oh, and I'm disgusted with the coin throwing as well. I hope the 'fans' concerned get lifetime bans. Walcott was stupid to flash the score afterwards to incite the fans further, but the coins were thrown before the incitement. Walcott might still get a ban tho as Wilshere was banned for something similar.
On the Europa League, you can make a decent amount of money if you have a decent run. Prize money is pitiful which is why Italian clubs (traditional powerhouses in the old UEFA Cup) find it a distraction and sometimes field Primavera (youth/junior) teams. That attitude will probably change this year with Benitez at Napoli and Conte's Juventus, the former loves European competitions and the latter is hosting the final not to mention they could break the record for most UEFA Cup/Europa League wins if they go all the way. Add an incredibly exciting Fiorentina and Italy could do some damage this year. As far as money goes, Juventus could make about 15 million Euro in gate receipts alone if they went all the way. It's nothing compared to Milan's 60 million Euro just in prize money for reaching the KO stages in the Champions League but still, a fair bit of cash.

Not to mention your first team plays for Real Madrid now.

Napoli have got to get through Swansea first. 😄
and our first win at Old Trafford hasade this a good day to be a Swans fan. Bony is showing what he's made of now. Three goals against two Manchester clubs in a week.

Tottenham can feel hard done by so far. They had a goal disallowed in the first half which looked onside to me. Now they've just had Rose sent off for a perfect tackle in the box. Very harsh decision, and City scoring the resulting penalty all but secures the points for City.
I can see the arguments that it should have been 3-2.

I can see the arguments that it should have been 3-2.
Im posting about this in another thread. Referee and lineman ruined the game just as it was getting competative .
Should have been 1-1 going into half time, and it was never a sending off and pen.
So I just saw that City posted losses that were cut in half from last year. I did some research and this looks like it's because the owners sponsored the team with the stadium naming rights and kit deal to cut losses and boost revenue. So from what I gather is that Man City's owners boosted the revenue by the paying for it with their own money? Is this accurate or am I just being bitter and jealous?

Yea, i think thats correct. Its a loop hole that chelsea exploit as well. City can say the naming rights for their stadium will cost 500m, and mansur will pay that.
Pain in the ass really...
Me and Hilds were joking cos his girlfriend is black and most England wingers/fullbacks are mix raced, but you never know you might have the next Aaron Ramsey running around your house. Just don't end up being one of those embarrassing fathers who are shouting at their kid from and the sidelines and making the coaches job way harder than it is.
I remember when I was like 9/10, I was playing for this team. One of the guys dads on my team spent the whole match shouting at his son who was probably our best player, his dad shouting at him made him lose all confidence and we went on to lose that match. The boy was so embarrassed he was holding back tears. Next match the same Dad was doing the same shit, this time harassing the coach and shouting at other players on our team as well. We went on to lose that match too. Third time he showed up, and he was doing the same thing, this time the coach spoke out and told him to be quite and let us play. It escalated quickly and the coach and his dad were about to get into fisticuffs, long story short we got disqualified from that match and the kid left our team. I dunno what he's up to now a days but his dad was a right cunt.
