Not heard of it before, but I'll certainly look into it. You can always subscribe to a thread though and that'll let you know when there's been a post. Or it should do anyway, not tried it myself.
Just spent a good hour sorting out the URLs for the forums. You'll notice that they now include the name of the topic instead of just the topics database id number.
So this page is now:
http://www.4wforums.com/topic-6-upgrades-page-2.htmlWhen it used to be:
http://www.4wforums.com/viewtopic.php?id=6&p=2Should have everything covered, and I intend to do the same for the profile pages at some point if I get the time.
Anyone finds that they get a 'Page Not Found' error due to this please let me know and I'll look into it right away. You shouldn't find any though as I'm certain that I've got everything that I've done covered.
Is there any way of telling the difference between new and old posts? I can't work it out. When I browse on my phone it doesn't jump to the new post, it just sends me to the top of each page and I have to try to work out what I've seen and what I haven't. It's a bit first world problems, but still!

Hate this one minute wait before posting again. Sometimes I want to do seperate posts for things, and have to wait for it.
Plus, if 4CW actually gets back to where it was, it used to be 4 or 5 posts long, so posting that will be a bitch!
Can the timeout be taken off?

Yea, good call. I have the same issue. I know when there are new posts in a thread, but trying to find them can be a chore sometimes, and as we get busier it will get harder.

I'll see what I can do about that one. A minute is way too long.
Edit: There appears to be no option to change this in the admin settings. I tried!

I believe I know how to fix that. I'll have a look later on when I get home from work. Thought it was in the admin settings somewhere, but if it's not then it's hard coded somewhere.

Are you both clicking on the new posts button that appears next to a topics title when there's a new post? I'm on my phone here quite a bit and that button works about 98% of the time in taking me to the newest post.
If you're having issues though I'll look into it.
Yeah, I always use the new posts button. It works on the PC, just not the phone. And even so, there's nothing to show which posts are new and which are old. On phpBB boards there's a little orange page icon that turns white after you've read a post. It would be awesome to get something like that on here.

Found it. I'll PM you Chux as you can do this in the Admin section, it's just hidden away a bit.

I'll look into it. Does sound like something that would be quite useful.
The post interval has been changed to 0 seconds. We don't have anyone here who is going to spam and if someone like that shows up I can change it.

Woo, time to spam this place like I'm chux!
You already have more posts than me! Ha!

If you take away your spam posts i think u r in single figures...
Some pretty high standards you have there! I look forward to your next 103.

On my mobile (Samsung Note) the site doesn't show when I have a PM unless I click in the "Go To" bar at the top of the screen and scroll to PM's. Can that be fixed? Also, when I go into the main PM screen (on mobile) it doesn't show who the PM is from until I've clicked on it. Not a biggie, but I'd rather know.
Hilds
Well there are two options really for PM's. One is the current method where it shows as a flashing icon in the header section, but you can't see properly on a mobile device unless using the drop-down menu. The other is where you get a pop-up message appear when you log in telling you that you have an unread message - not sure how this would look on a mobile device though without testing, but I'm sure it'd make a PM noticeable when on your phone.
If people would prefer it I can trial run having the pop-up PM message - I can do this any time through my specific Admin section.
I'll also look into the viewing of PM's on a mobile when I get home. Shouldn't be difficult to change.
Can you do subforums? For example, in 4CW I'd like to separate and organise the topics, have a bookers forum, and OOC, a rp section (don't panic, it's for character development), a TV and PPV section so everything has a home and people know where to go.
Is this possible?
It is. Best to talk to Chux about it.
Chucky...

Yeah, that can be done. I'd be a bit concerned that you're scaring people off with complications, but we'll see.

Pfft, I've got 4 new people coming in.
In all seriousness, if sunforums dont help then we can take them out (but I do have 4 new people signing up in the next few days)

Cheers Chuckles. Can you do a subforum for the shows, please. Maybe take out the OOC, that can be the main page we are using. And add a 4CW Announcements page so I have somewhere for sign ups etc.
Is there a way of putting up a private bookers forum? I'd post all my stuff in there, and that way if I have net problems someone else can go in there and post the show etc.
Hilds
I was wondering about something i'm not sure if it has been brought up or not... but i have seen some other forums have a tag a poster feature like how facebook or twitter have a tag friends feature.
I know it might not be that cool of an idea but it could get a members attention quicker if its un-pm worthy and has more to do with a topic but that member is not noticing it... like me for example sometimes i post in threads and forget i did and weeks or months later i'll see there was a reply to what i said but it's so old that it doesn't matter anymore.
Just an idea. i don't bring them to the table often.
