Surprised no one has posted this yet. I mean, I'm surprised Snake hasn't.

The hardware looks nice. It's quick and responsive. And...that's about it. I'm hearing a lot of bad things too, like how second hand games will require a fee to play. There's a Kinect camera that watches you all the time. Oh, and it has to connect to the internet at least once per day, even if you only play offline. That's not a deal breaker for me since I have a connection and it's not like they've threatened anything as a punishment for not doing it, but I can imagine it will suck for people with less stable net access.

A fee for second hand games! Absolutely insane.

Almost God like? Maybe...

i made the move from playstation to xbox about 2 years ago (after being playstation since the first one that came out).

I'll prob upgrade to xbox one at some point, but not sure i like the idea of the kinect watching all the time, or the daily connection. I barely touch my consul from one month to the next so dont know how that would work.

Paying for old games doesnt really bother me as I tend to update my games and not play the old ones.

Not sure if this is TV news or not, but announced at the XBOX ONE announcement is that Steven Spielberg will be involved in making a Xbox exclusive TV show based on Halo...

Xbox had been looking around for exclusive TV content for their Xbox One, and was even making enquires about bringing Heroes back for their exclusive content (Although it wouldn't be the same Heroes as we all know, it would have a new core set of characters but with old cast members making cameo appearances throughout the season etc)

Worst part is that it's not backwards compatible, so all my old Halo and Batman games will be useless unless I have 2 X boxes linked to my TV. Absolute shit.

I noticed it but i was going to post about on it here today or tomorrow i just was lazy and i thought everyone was skipping out on games for spring weather 😋

Anyways i watched the whole robotic presentation and i felt uncomfortable and violated.

Kinect
Always Online
Fee for borrowing or buying used
probably a bullshit contract that will be need to be paid in advance or with many frequent payments.
It's pretty much a overgrown cell phone.. i can do that majority of this shit on my phone right now

I want to play a fucking game.. not set up direct tv on my xbox or have someone watch me sit on my ass and play a fighting game on skype.

I don't even like the current kinect concept which is why i don't own that product and have no plans on upgrading.. i have decided that the xbox 1 is no good and the whole package is a deal breaker for me.. i don't want to sound like i need to put a bib on and go sit in the corner but this is a pile of shit.

As of now Sony's stock just went up after that reveal

( http://www.ign.com/articles/2013/05/21/ … ne-reveal)

also for fun here is my status on facebook about this.

XBOX 1 sounds like a pile of trash... what happened to just playing games? why does it need to be an entertainment center that will need to be online atleast once every 24 hours to play just a single player game? this doesn't sound like a video game console.. sounds more like a cable subscription... not something to buy the kids... this thing will be like a VCR in 10 years when the nextbox comes out... MS doesn't want rural area/and military personal's business anymore.

Whatever if all that seems extreme then i don't know... what happen to put the game in the console and hit play?

I know it's unlikely but say this ends up fucking everything up... and say sony also crashes into MS then what? everything falls apart? video game crash of 83 happening in 2014/15?  Nintendo rises from the ashes again!!!!

ok so i just woke up and am slamming coffee.

I'm actually pretty chill for this fall with the games coming out for current gen... GTAV and Batman! nananananana SNAKEH!

EDIT: i'm not even gonna get started on the backwards comp. that really angers me it's not like i'm already on my third xbox or anything.

100% agree Snake. All I want is a game system, like my current x box.

Right, that is all i'm wanting is just an upgrade to stronger and more powerful video games.. newer and bigger adventures and challenges.. not to play these gimmicks and eventually have something that is going to go out of service eventually making everything you put into that thing a waste of money and time... it's just not right and i will have no part of this shitty thing as it stands now... if something changes for the better soon then maybe... but i don't think it will happen so all i can do is hope that Sony isn't going to pull any shit like that used game stuff or added few's to loan out the game to my future kids or whatever...

anyways check this out.

http://www.gamespot.com/twitter-battle/xbox-vs-ps4/

i took a stance even though i shouldn't have until sony speaks but that is just how much i don't like this new xbox.... and it seems like almost everyone else feels the same... and look at the places who voted in ms favor.. north korea? iran? do they even have internet in north korea????

Yeah, really can't argue with any of that.

A lot of my complaints aren't really complaints. I mean, I can connect once every 24 hours with no problems, so I don't know why I don't like that. I don't want Kinect but since I'm not paying extra for it, who cares? It does look pretty awesome, being able to measure depth very accurately and even weight distribution. And while the backwards compatibility thing is completely insane, it's not like I've ever wanted to play an Xbox game on the 360 so I don't know why that should bother me either.

I'm left with a lot of feelings of "that doesn't seem right" rather than any major reasons to dislike the system. The hardware looks nice, it looks to run really well and that's great...but what else is there? I don't care that CoD has lots of polygons. They didn't even show any in-game footage, just some nice pre-rendered packages. Great, the One will be able to play HD video. We've all been waiting for that since...um, since I turned my PS3 off half an hour ago, I guess. They showed that it will be able to do two things at once, just like a PC with dual monitor setup. Which I've already had for nearly a decade now. It can search the internet, use Skype and keep track of fantasy league teams...like a PC, which I've already had for 15 years now. And it can watch TV, like a TV, which you'll need to use the One. So instead of changing the channel from HDMI port 1 to HDMI port 2, you change from game to TV mode. I'll admit, I'm not blown away.

It all looks like a move in the right direction and a hardware upgrade has been long, long overdue so I'm fine with whatever, I just wish they'd spent more time telling us things that matter. How do the games look in gameplay? How much will it cost? Will there be a monthly charge for anything? When is the release date? Other than Call of Duty and the usual EA upgrades, what games are lined up? Why can't it play old games? Isn't that kinda bullshit? How much will the used game charge be? Isn't that kinda bullshit?

You know, that stuff.

I guess to just end my day on the xbox one topic i'll just kinda get right to the point of what my concerns/problems are.

I'll be having kids in the next couple years ( yeah i know) and i really don't know how i'm going to learn how to present this thing to them. ( now i wanna say i can learn to adapt things are changing but these changes the xbox one wants i don't think our world is ready for right now.

The internet.

usually one of the first things to go when bills and money are tight...especially now with cell phones being so advanced that it's ok if you have to shut down the computers and xbox/psn for a month or two or longer.... i can still play my offline adventures or enjoy my already downloaded games that i have paid for. *yes i know i don't own whats on the disc, just the plastic* so if i buy this thing and i can't play these offline games because i'm in some trouble and the internet needs to go then i'm out of luck with a dust box then... i know when times are getting bad and you need to cancel things to save money then video games shouldn't be a priority but sometimes you need to just relax with what you have... oh yeah i forgot that also goes for movies too...

I don't know what else to really say about this until more info is released... i guess i just don't feel good about this.. and most importantly which would just sum up it all together... this just isn't what i want. i mean at this point i feel like the wii u or just sticking with this gen is my best option in terms of pure gaming goes.

I really don't think the online deal will be all that bad. They've said it needs to connect once every 24 hours, but not what will happen if it doesn't. I'm guessing it's just not going to let you use certain features or something, not disable everything. I mean, right now both the 360 and PS3 (and Wii actually) occasionally tell me "an update is required" and unless I agree I can't play online. Not that I want to.

Basically I don't agree with it either, but I don't think they're quite that bad. They're not going to stop you playing offline just because your internet is down. If I'm wrong and somehow they do want to do that, it won't last long. People won't stand for it.

Every major gaming company has made mistakes with their systems at one point or another and it seems like this is microsoft's big fuck up. It's going to cost them. I love games but I won't sell out the money for something that seems so over controlled. If I wanted to play something that I had to be online all the time for I'd play WoW.

I agree with this 100%

Gamers aren't standing for this at all... i haven't followed up on any of the news on it today but i just think they are going to need to do some work here to change some things or delay the console and with the games announced already i think that might not be possible at this point.

I'm pretty sure PS4 is going to do the used game fee stuff too.. 🙁 i feel pretty let down by this as it does effect me more then i would like it to.

Also just for fun and i don't think is going to surprise anyone.

After a few days i'm over all of this stuff... Sony is likely going to have many of the same things going for it and used games are just going to be a thing of the past... i'm still unsure how i'm going to go about loaning my games out to my family though.

For now though i'm not worried i have quite  a few games coming out this gen i'm looking at so i don't think i'm going to be out looking at these new consoles until late 2014 most likely.

Since your gamertag details are stored on the cloud, you could actually just create one account with multiple users. Presumably that's a bit too obvious for them not to have thought of, but it's possible...

Yeah i'm going to have to wait and see what happens but then that could mean someone is unlocking all my achievments and messing up my stats 😕

I really do doubt i will be buying the new xbox though... overall i'm just not interested in what they are selling.

I swear Microsoft said that you could do this. The only problem is that you can only be logged in on one xbox at a time. So if you lend a game to a family member or a friend and they're using your gamertag, then you wouldn't be able to play any games on your xbox.

So Microsoft have come out to try and clarify a few points..

Firstly, you can trade your games in to participating outlets still, and you can give your game to your friend as long as your friend has been on your list for at least 30 days but the game can only be passed on once

And it is defending its right to have the console connect to the internet once every 24hours, saying that you are allowed 24hrs of offline gaming, but after that time you have to connect to the internet before continuing to play but you can still watch Tv and Blu Rays... So basically, if your internet gets cut off, you cant play on your games console.

Yeah, it's nice of them to let us watch our DVDs. Last I heard the TV service isn't available in the UK anyway, so that's no good for us, and even if it was we'll be playing the One on a TV anyway. I don't really get why they're doing the TV thing. Oh, and they said we can still watch "live" TV, so it may be that Netflix or whatever other on demand services you use might not be available.

I'm liking the One less and less. The used game charge is a deal breaker.
