Nintendo announced at E3 that there is a new fairy type with Sylveon, Jigglypuff, Marril and Gardevoir all at least part fairy. Not sure what to think of it but they are super effective against dragons.

Haven't watched the Nintendo E3 yet, and the Pokémon one kicks off in about an hour and a half. I have seen a few pictures though!

Love the guidance warnings on that video. Comic mischief!

What do you think of this new Fairy type? I expected a new type to be introduced with Sylveon, but I was thinking more along the lines of a Sound type or something. There's a bunch of Pokemon that could qualify as Sound type but I guess Fairy will have to do. Although I can't work out how Marill is a fairy.

Pokémon X & Y - Developer Roundtable
The special Nintendo Developer Roundtable for Pokémon X & Y has begun at E3 and is providing a large amount of Pokémon X & Y information. This information will be continually updated so keep checking back, and be sure to check the lower update segment for the previous news of the day
Players able to choose between languages in the game itself, English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Japanese, or Korean. PSS (Player Search System) will allow players to search for others locally or globally (via Wi-Fi) to battle and trade. Split into Friends, Acquaintances and those you Pass By. They can then be promoted all the way up to friends as you interact and can hold up to 100 friends.
Multiple rulesets for battles return. Two new Pokémon: Skrelp is a Poison and Water-type Pokémon. Clauncher is a Water-type Pokémon. You can battle people you Passby and that's what promotes them to acquaintences. Trading remains much the same as before. Interact with an acquaintance more than once and it'll automatically ask you to be your friend. Rhyhorn is a rideable Pokémon. Pokémon-Amie is said to have an additional, but currently unclear affect on Pokémon. Horde Encounters are a new type of wild battle. 5 on 1 battle. May include Pokémon of multiple species rather than just one. Sky Battles confirmed, only Flying-types and Levitators can participate. Talonflame, a new Fire and Flying-type Pokémon has just been revealed. Talonflame focuses on Speed.
A single save file is in the game still. Backwards compatibility "being worked on". X & Y will make IVs and EVs more visible. PSS syncs with 3DS Friend List. Multiple methods of transportation and different movement types in gyms. You can select specific music tracks before battle with a friend. Riding different Pokémon helps in different areas. Rhyhorn in rocky areas, for example. Talonflame, the evolution of Fletchling, can learn Brave Bird, Clauncher can learn Crabhammer and Skrelp can learn Sludge Bomb.

I love the idea of the horde encounters as wild battles. With 5-on-1 battles, surely that will increase the odds of a shiny? And the sky battles look cool but whether that'll actually change the gameplay, I don't know.

Not sure about fairy type. Seems a bit gay. 😄

But they do kill dragons - I'll take a gay fairy on my team to slaughter the dragon master of this game. 😄

The more I hear about this game, the better it seems. It's so much more refined and thought-out and much more open world than all previous games. Graphics wise, it's a completely different game to anything before and all the new features and Pokemon seem sufficient.
The future of Pokemon is looking bright. I don't think the series will ever end. Watch in twenty years, we'll have a Pokedex 2,000 Pokemon strong over 15 regions.

The best news I've heard so far is that you can refuse trainer battles.

Really? Regular battles? First I've heard of that, it keeps getting better!

Yeah, I guess the Kalos region pokémon league scrapped the eye contact rule. I'm very happy about it.

Yeah, seems good to me.
Any pre- and/or evolutions you wanna see?
I wish they'd finally make baby Kangaskhan a Pokemon. It's been there since Gen 1! It must be a baby Pokemon ala Igglybuff... and how is a Kangaskhan born with a baby Kangaskhan in their pouch for that matter?

The Kangas-roo looks quite a lot like a substitute to me. Maybe it's born with a pokédoll in the pouch!

There's not really anything I'm especially hoping for, but I did always find it a little unfair that Scyther got an evolution but Pinsir didn't. Maybe you should be able to trade Pinsir with a metal coat to get something new this time.

To get you in the mood, here's a couple of new Sporcles I made.

I failed horribly on the badges one. I'm rusty.

This is probably the first Pokemon game I'm gonna buy since the 3rd generation, so my question is. Should I get a 3DS or a 3DS XL? I'm guessing the only difference is the price and the screen size, is the 3DS too small to enjoy? I;ve never had a DS so I wouldn't know.

Get the XL. It's definitely worth it.

Whats the difference other than screen size? Higher resolution?

Screen size makes all the difference. Resolution probably isn't actually any higher, but at that size it's not really a big deal. The extra size makes things clearer, and gives you more accurate touch screening.

I know I will unfortunately never get this game, but reading about the new game reminds me of the original. It seriously was one of the greatest games ever. That was easily the best Christmas (gift wise) I've ever had. And playing that game for the first time ever was an experience I don't think I'll ever experience again!

Some news from CoroCoro! Some old Pokémon are getting new formes. Dat Absol!

That mega evolution shit looks so fucking awesome, I'm definitely getting these games.
Since they're showing us pokemon from a previous generation. You reckon they'll be available without a national dex?

I haven't heard that they're starting over like they did in Unova, so my guess is that there will be a mix from the start. No idea though, could go either way. I quite liked having all the new ones, felt like the game got a bit weaker when all the old guys started showing up. I wanted to enjoy the fresh world a bit more before opening the floodgates.
They're doing a lot of really cool stuff with this game. I don't really think they'll ever more to consoles, but with the 3DS as powerful as it is, the next handheld generation will feel like a bit of a waste to me. May as well just use a Wii. I think with consoles being as internet heavy as they are now, they won't be losing any of the connectivity they want to hang onto by keeping the games portable. They kinda killed that argument off when they made trades and battles available on wifi. Maybe we'll get a console game with a portable version, using a 3DS (or 4DS, whatever) how the Wii-U uses the WiiPad thing.
Wishful thinking.

Remember how awesome it was when you heard that you can now decline trainer battles? Well prepare to get your minds blown.

Ledge jump!

Upcoming worldwide release in October 2013.
