Rooney and Man United

Jek

So a lot of tom foolery has been going on between Rooney and United. Rooney wants out it seems like but United want to keep him. But the scenario keeps getting worse, Moyes said he'd need Rooney if RVP gets injured which is a blow but it's defiantly been made to look worse than it is (as that doesn't mean he's not in the first 11, just that he'd deputise as a striker). But the writings on the wall and both sides have been handling this badly.

Supposedly Chelsea bid 10 million plus Mata or David Luiz, it sounds like bullshit to me to be honest as Mata's been Chelsea's best player for the last 2 seasons and Luiz is awesome. Which was denied by United.

Will he stay? Will he go? If so to where?

Almost God like? Maybe...

Luiz isn't awesome.  He's a terrible defender, but a decent midfielder.  He'd be very good in Spain, hence Barca's interest.  In the EPL he's a mistake waiting to happen.  Utd wont touch him.  Mourinho wont want him.  Barca will get him for around £30m, which would be great for everyone.

I agree on Mata, and not just because it's what I said in the transfer rumour thread.

Utd wont sell to Chelsea or Arse either.  If Roon goes then he'll go to Bayern or Dortmond (swop deal for to Dortmond would suit everyone)

Agree with Hilds, Luiz isn't awesome. At times he looks a right liability and dodgy as fuck as a defender.

I think what Moyes said has been taken out of context. Just because he's said that he needs him incase van Persie get's injured doesn't mean that Rooney isn't first choice. When you think about it, United only really have 2 experienced strikers (Welbeck was pretty useless last season so can't count, plus he's still young). If van Persie get's injured they would need him.

There're United's best two strikers and losing one would be a blow. Losing both would be a massive blow. So yeah, you would need Rooney if van Persie get's injured. But that's not to say that he will be used as a back up. No where was he said that he'd be a back up player. I don't think United will sell him though.

Rooney comes out looking worse than United. And once you're at a club like United you can't really go much higher... some might say you can't get higher. United have made it clear that they don't want to sell him. Rooney is just throwing a bitch fit. "I'm confused and angry over a newspaper report and what it means". How about you strap on a pair and go and speak to the manager to find out what it means.

Juan Mata & £10m for Wayne Rooney is a great deal for United if it happens. Losing Rooney is a blow but Mata more than makes up for it. Can't see it happening though. More than likely, Chelsea will just up their offer. I think United would sell for £30m or more.

They would sell for £25m, but not to another top 4 english club. How many times have utd sold a top player to another team in this country that could challenge them? I remember Veron going to chels, but that was after utd found out Veron couldnt handle the premier league.

He wont go to chelsea, and he's def not going to arse.

Better than Essa

Of course Rooney wants to leave. He was the man there for years, and now they have someone who is twice as good as him. He's down the pecking order, and as - like benjawi said - once you're at the top of United you've really hit the top level, he's not happy about being #2. He'd be the man again if he went to Chelsea or Arsenal, or nearly anywhere else, so a jump to another big club looks to be the only way. Makes sense to me anyway.

If United lose van Persie to injury, they'd have to fall back on Welbeck and Chicharito, which isn't the worst thing in the world. With Fellaini they'd more than get by.
