Scarlett Comments On Karrion Kross RAW Debut For those who missed it, undefeated NXT Champion Karrion Kross made his RAW debut on Monday - losing in two minutes to a roll-up (with feet on the ropes) from a face Jeff Hardy, who was himself losing to Veer on Main Event the week previous. Obviously, this booking decision didn't go down well with fans and critics alike. Scarlett did not accompany Kross to the ring, and it was reported that she was not backstage. She took to Twitter after the match and commented. “This is only the beginning. #WWERaw". Kross has not commented on the loss as of this writing, which happened on his 36th birthday, however he was on NXT this week to continue his feud with Samoa Joe.
Steve Corino coming out of retirement WWE employee and former ECW Champion Steve Corino is coming out of retirement to wrestle his son, Colby Corino. Corino vs. Corino will take place at the Premier Wrestling Federation’s next event on Friday, August 27 in North Carolina. This will be Colby’s 25th Anniversary Show to celebrate his birthday. The show will air live on independentwrestling.tv.
WWE reveals Shanky's back injuries after McIntyre chair assault WWE has released several graphic photos and video of the welts & abrasions on Shanky’s back after he took the steel chair beatdown from Drew McIntyre on last night’s RAW from Dallas. McIntyre attacked Mahal, Shanky and Veer with a steel chair, but Mahal and Veer retreated to the ramp and watched as Drew destroyed Shanky with repeated chair shots.
Backstage Reaction to Karrion Kross' RAW Loss There was said to be a lot of “shock and frustration” within WWE NXT over NXT Champion Karrion Kross losing his official main roster debut match to Jeff Hardy on last night’s RAW. Kross, who was not accompanied by Scarlett, cut a post-match promo and warned that Hardy just made the biggest mistake of his career, indicating that the feud will continue. WWE built Kross up during the broadcast with vignettes and praise from the announcers, so the loss came as a major surprise to fans watching in the arena and at home.
Several NXT talent and staff were reportedly shocked and frustrated with the loss, according to Fightful Select. There was reportedly significant frustration over how Finn Balor, Adam Cole, Johnny Gargano, Santos Escobar, Oney Lorcan and others had worked hard to help make Kross as dominant as possible during his NXT run. The general mood among some in NXT was a “not mad, disappointed” vibe, as they felt like this represented how the NXT brand is viewed by WWE higher-ups as a whole. Notes on upcoming Toni Storm debut on SmackDown this week Last week, WWE confirmed via video package that Toni Storm would be making her debut this week on SmackDown! Toni Storm is reportedly scheduled to work as a babyface on WWE’s main roster. Storm has been working as a heel on the WWE NXT brand as of late, but word now is that current creative plans have her working as a babyface on SmackDown, according to PWInsider.
Bray Wyatt out of action indefinitely There are no plans to bring Bray Wyatt back on to WWE Television any time soon. WWE sources remain quiet on Wyatt’s status, according to PWInsider, beyond the idea that he’s being held off TV for a specific reason. The belief among some within WWE is that Wyatt’s absence is not related to a creative issue. It was previously reported that Wyatt’s time away was not a case of the third generation wrestler having heat for anything as he is well-liked in the company. It was noted that internally, there is still no timetable for Wyatt’s return to active competition for the company. Previously, it has been reported that he is struggling with the death of Brodie Lee aka Luke Harper, as the two were very close friends.
