Yeah, I love DnD! I've been DMing my groups monthly(ish) game for nearly a year now and it's been interesting! I've also been watching Critical Role for a good few years and there have been many years shed, laughs had and shouts given over the process. I've bought the comics and Tal'Dorei campaign book and even gone so far as to back their Kickstarter for their Animation Series, and my god am I looking forward for that to drop! SO yeah, DnD nerd here for definite! :-P

Wow alright! I’m kinda a newbie when it comes to it. So I’m sure I’ll be asking advice soon, especially since by believe character has passed on......

I know that feeling. y character in the game before the one I'm running died in the penultimate session before we had to stop that campaign due to my brother moving away and all of us deciding to not carry on that story without him. And the DM gave every opportunity for the group to revive him, but the dice insisted I was dead!

So yeah, I love this shit! :-P

Dude this was my very first true character. Every other campaign ended two sessions in or I was the makeshift DM. I love this current campaign. Seriously we’re 8 months in and I’ve missed 3-4 sessions max.

My old character was just a typical Human  barbarian, but I rolled such good starting stats, health points with each level up, and had magical properties to my greatsword that made me a beast.

Rolled low on a constitution check in a sidequest swamp and I went from 68 health points to zero. Already surrounded by enemies bc I was the tank. Didn’t stand much of a chance after that.......still pretty upset about it lol

Dude i feel ya. My Sorcerer got smashed by a giant, barely survived, then was hacked to death by a bunch of Skaven! (Ratmen. This campaign was set in the warhammer fantasy world) The party did their best but to no avail. And this was my first real character death too.

Character deaths are just part of the whole experience. Yeah it sucks, especially when you really get into the character and enjoy playing them, but think of the opportunity to explore a new character and class. You'll always have the memories of your first character, and he will always hold a special place for you.

So go roll your new guy and have fun!

Got a dual wielding crossbow Fighter. Since he’s human I was able to give him a feat (Crossbow Expert) and then since I’m starting at lvl 5 I added another feat (Sharpshooter) so he does a lot damage quickly and everyone seems to think he’s cool lol so we’ll see how long this lasts.

I absolutely lovr d&d. And currently DM one story that takes place after a wizard (pc) failed to cast a time traveling spell and is going to soon be traveling through time in order to save his wizard tower.

There's a whole bunch of wacky stuff happening as his critical failure has ripped holes in the planes and he has to repair them, or Primus is going to trigger the great Modron March which will restore the timelines, but also wipe them out of existence.

Haha wow. I’m way to much of a noob for that kinda storyline, but maybe after a year or two we’ll get there. Some of the stories people share are great.

Some of my favorites are just ridiculous encounters with the players (usually newer) and the DM. I have plenty of tales like this and I didn’t even DM for that long

I need to play more! Too many different character builds knocking around my head!
