It's quite random, but this has been bugging me for a long time. In my opinion,  the C4/Standing Spanish Fly is by far the dumbest move ever. Even worse than The Worm. I mean,  yeah it looks cool,  but really all you're doing is making the other guy do a somersault. The avalanche version is ok I guess. And when someone does a running one,  you can't even tell who's doing the move to who.

Thoughts?

Looking to start a war are you? 😋

Back off the C4. I'm warning you. It's a great move lol. It works better with speed rather than from a standing position (not sure how you can say you don't know who's doing the move), but I am a huge mark for the move lol. Rhys Cain uses it too, as of this year.

Oh, and if you do a somersault, you don't land on your back - so it definitely has some stock as a painful move.

Painful? Yes,  but I just don't buy in as a finisher. At best,  it's a signature move. As for the running version,  I find it hard to tell if he's giving the move our receiving a massive lariat.

Ah but you are forgetting the ol' "person who uses the finisher has the kayfabe ability to deliver the most devastating Somersaults on the planet." 😋

Oh I know. I was a huge Paul Burchill mark back in the day.

If the Rock Bottom/Book End (a simple ura-nage) works as a finisher, a flipping version does, too. I kinda get where you're coming from, as I'd also class it as being similar to the Side Effect, but yeah. Cool move; just flashy enough to get a pop (like the Canadian Destroyer) and believable enough for a three count. Especially as long as the likes of the Bailey to Belly is getting pinfalls. Hell, if that works for you, anything can.

To add to the topic at hand, a pet peeve of mine is when commentators talk over the majority of a match with nothing to say about the match that's happening;  instead using that time to play up a main event(er), special appearance or PPV. This is ussually done over squash matches and low-card fare, and was notoriously commonplace in the diva days. I feel like it maybe stills happens to cruisers, too... but I can't WATCH cruisers without a Network subscription, so I dunno for sure. I get it: they're filler matches (usually) or just... "lesser" in some other form. But why would you want to highlight that fact? Thats's exactly what it feels like to me when a commentary team does that. It says, "We don't care, so you shouldn't, either!" It makes the product look weak.

It's like, "Hey... sorry, folks! We know this is a slog to get through, but stay tuned for ___ (a main eventer's name; the scheduled main event; a stipulation match; a special announcement/appearance; etc.)" Dumb shit, that.

I also don't like Asuka's streak, if that counts.

In terms of moves, hmm... well, the Bailey-to-Belly, for one. If it isn't a three count when Scott Steiner does it to a smaller opponent, it shouldn't be a three count when Bailey does it to someone her own size.

Finally, can we all agree that Cena's STF is objectively stupid? 😋

Yes til the end of time.

Rollins actually was in it during RAW and he moved Cena's arm so it looked like it was actually doing damage. Kinda hilarious.

I spotted that, too! Good on Rollins.

I don't watch wrestling much anymore beyond YouTube clips and Lucha Underground on Netflix,  but whichever twin Mrs. Cena is actually does it really well. I dunno if it's because the women are shorter or what,  but her locking her hands together sells the move visually for me.
