hahahaha, I saw this thread and thought "I know, I'll say I'm reading 50 Shades...". Seriously, it went thru my head.
I'm just reading The Sun, most mornings. But, after watching World War Z I'm considering getting the books (I know they are very different).
Last book I read was one of the Dexter ones. Really good, fun and well written.

Not reading anything atm but the last thing I read was "Pawns of Concilia" by Christopher Felts, who you guys may know as phoenixkane1986 of 4w fame. 🙂

I just finished World War Z in time for the movie. I shouldn't have rushed to finish reading because the book isn't too much like the movie at all, but I still enjoyed both.

Just finished the last GoT book. Now the TV show is like an acid trip for me, cuz the tv show it's so damn different:
1. they skip stuff
2. they ignroe stuff
3. they emphsize stuff that was trivial in the books
4. and trivialize stuff that was supa important in the books
5. plus, there's a lot of stuff that was GREAT in the book that just can't be done on TV (ie. the whole 'wreak' thing was done the exact opposite way then it was done in the books)
even with all that, that show is FRIKIN AWESOME...
and the books are CRAZY. they'll go into a character for 100 pages and finish his story with something like 'and he turns the corner and is stabbed to death.'
NO ONE IS SAFE!!!!
it's great.

No clue who he is, when was he in, and did he have any other names?
Was also known as Kaiser Phoenix and he was in the last few years just recently he hasn't been. I'm sure he was here long before I joined. I keep in touch with him through youtube. And he advertised his book in one of his videos and so I ordered it off Amazon and to be fair, it was a pretty good book. I'm a writer too but I only sell my books in ebook format so I was quite impressed that he got it published as a hard copy.

Yea, I remember Kaiser Phoenix. Not seen him on the boards in years tho (to be fair I haven't really been here in a few years...) He use to post quite a bit back in the day and was quite well regarded, I think.
Whats his book about?
It's a fantasy novel. Think fantasy RPG games and you're on the right track.
Here's a link to it: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Pawns-of-Concil … B00A0XQXMG

A Clash of Kings, which is the second in A Song of Ice and Fire (Game of thrones). It's quite good, but I find myself getting to Bran chapters and not picking up the book again for a few days because his story is the worst, it happens sometimes with Dany but she's in Qarth now so I'm interested again. But yeah good series although parts are boring and over descriptive .

Until just now I was reading the "What are you currently reading?" topic on 4w. Some alright stuff.

I'm saddened that people haven't written Revival in here...
Woah, didn't know Kaiser's got a book published. That's awesome to hear!
I've almost finished reading "5 Days in May" by Lord Adonis. Lord Adonis is a high-ranking politician in the Labour Party, and this is his account of the negotiations between Labour and the Lib Dems after the 2010 election. Interesting reading about the Labour side of things, especially after reading David Laws' book about the coalition negotiations.
And I'm about 3/4 of the way through Lady Antonia Fraser's book about the 1832 Great Reform Act, "Perilous Question". Really interesting stuff, learned a lot! I've got a few of her books. Her book on Cromwell was a God send for an essay back in the uni days.
As for fiction, I was re-reading some of the Sharpe books recently. I'm tempted to pick up "The Family Corleone" sometime this week. It came out last year, and it about the exploits of the Corleones (from the Godfather, for those that don't know) during the Prohibition era. I guess it's like a "what happened next?" with Robert De Niro's Vito Corleone in Godfather 2.
Outside of books, there's my monthly comic reading. I read Batman, Swamp Thing, Constantine, Justice League Dark and now Batman/Superman.

Recently, I finished JK Rowling's newest novel The Casual Vacancy and it was completely not what I expected. It's basically as far away from Harry Potter as you can get. But it was a great read. Fantastic, well-thought out characters and a powerful drama. I'd recommend it to anyone who reads a lot of fiction.

Do you guys read sitting down on a chair or couch or do you read laying down in a bed? Might sound like a weird question but just wondering.

I'll start in a chair and wind up on my bed. And then I wake up in a tub of ice with my kidney missing.....or replaced. Depends on the book

Just finished Dearly Devoted Dexter, before that I blew through nearly the entire Dresden series (waiting on Ghost Story to arrive in the mail) also finishing up the Sookie Stackhouse series and about to dive into Terry Pratchet's Monstrous Regiment.
Dresden series? I remember watching a Dresden Files tv series about 6yrs ago but it only lasted 1 series. I did enjoy it though..

Is that the hangman Dexter? If it is, I really liked that book and thought it would have transferred to the series really well.
Yes the one with Dr. Danco! I loved finding out in the end he was playing hangman with his victims.
And yes Belly Syfy had a series based on the Dresden books, I think they would make much better movies though.
I rarely read, but when I do I'll be laying down. I give up pretty quickly though because my arms get tired holding the book up over my head.

Any of you guys reading any good books at the moment? Apart from Hilds that is as I dont need to hear him talk more about 50 Shades of Grey...
Am just finishing up the first A Game of Thrones book at the moment as I thought i might use the time before the 4th season to try catch up in the books as everyone has said how great they are.
