WWE Roadblock 2016 - Raw PPV

The first three matches are announced. Kind of disappointed to see that the womens title is still only between Sasha and Charlotte. 30 minute Iron Man match though could be fun. Hopefully this will be the end of the feud for now though, would be a fitting end to it.

Would WWE be stupid enough to make Reigns a double champion? He's still not getting good crowd reactions - they're better than they were, but there's still a lot of booing. Putting the title on him now and making him a double champion would just set him right back to where he was with fans a while ago, nothing but pure boos and crowd anger. Personally don't have a problem with him, but I wouldn't put him as a double champ as there's just no need for it. Never really liked the idea of a double champ anyway, as surely the guy you lose the secondary title to is instantly number one contender for the main belt - and it's also saying that he could beat him for the main belt as he's already beaten him for a belt. Yeah, just don't like it. Let the reign of Owens continue!

ROH did it right with Lethal. Strong challenged him for the world title and did a broadway but beat him for the tv title which didn't quite make him a contender for the world title because of previous shots.

Funny how talk of this match came out after Conor McGregor became the first double UFC champion. It's happened a few times before with WWE though so it's not a new idea for them, not like they could use it as a selling point. Would be the first of this particular combination, but who cares about that really?

The womens division is so weak since the brand split. Would have been great before it, but now it's weak on either side. They don't seem to be doing too much to build up others either, especially not on Raw. Build Bailey up better, build up Nia Jax, call up Aksana. Make a small division that is good, not just working on the 2 women who are obviously favourites. They've been putting on good matches, but it feels like it's gone on too long now, just like some other feuds in WWE.

Funnily enough, this is the second WWE PPV this year called Roadblock. They've tried adding a tag line to it so that it's Roadblock: End of the Line, but who is going to call it that? It'll just get called Roadblock. They're that short of PPV names apparently.

To be fair the other Roadblock was technically a "Network Special" not your standard run of the mill PPV! But Roadblock is a stupid name anyways, it's like they aren't even trying now.

I heard Mickie James might be coming back. She'll probably go to Smackdown which needs star power anyways.

Kevin Owens is going to lose the title at Roadblock. We'll get Roman for months 🙁

Is it weird to anyone else that this is the second Roadblock this year?

But of course, as WWE keeps reminding us, this event isn't called Roadblock - it's called Roadblock: End of the Line.

And there's no way Roman wins.

Why don't they just call it End of the Line? Gah! WWE and their PPV names boggle my mind. I'm surprised we haven't gotten a PPV called "Special Event" yet!

The womens match made me laugh when it was announced. Remember Foley saying that their last match would be the last one between them? Then the following week he forgets that he's said that and books them in a match together for this.

The match will probably be good though, so I can't have too many complaints. Although I really hope this is the last time.

Main post updated. There are basically 5 matches on the card, plus one kick off show. Doesn't seem like much really.

They always add one or two matches come the weekend.

New Day get a night off? Is that allowed?

The triple threat match and the Rollins vs Jericho matches are the only matches that I'm looking forward too.

It was revealed during the WWE Tribute to the Troops tapings on Tuesday night that Cesaro and Sheamus will challenge the New Day for the belts on Sunday. Cesaro and Sheamus defeated the Shining Stars, the Golden Truth and Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson to earn a title shot.

There seems to be some confusion with the Zayn and Strowman match. Some are saying it has a ten minute time limit, others staying that Sami just has to last 10 minutes to further his storyline but the match can go on longer than that. Nice of WWE to be real clear on that one.

Pretty sure Foley said he has to last ten minutes. I'd go with that. A time limit doesn't  make much sense.

To be fair, everyone I've seen on other forums seem to be under the impression that it's a time limit match. If Sami hasn't been pinned or tapped within 10 minutes then the match is over. Will be disappointed if that is the case. I don't mind time limit matches, but 10 minutes is too short. Should be 20. Not that I would want to see Strowman in a 20 minute match right now, I'm not sure he could even do that. If this match goes 10 minutes that would be his longest singles match anyway I think.

I'm hoping that it isn't a time limit match, but I wouldn't expect it to go much more than a minute over than anyway.

Kayfabe, making him last ten minutes makes less sense. What if, say, he somehow picks up the win in 3 minutes? Does that count against him?

WWE have finally added the tag titles to their website. I hope that they don't have the New Day drop the titles already. I love that they've beaten the record, but come on now, they've been dominant so why make them lose to a team that has been thrown together and don't seem to be able to get along? Let them drop the belts to an actual team.

Personally think the best way to make them drop the belts would be to do a tag team elimination match. Start with New Day and have them go beat a few teams and have a team like Anderson & Gallows take advantage of their worn down state to win them. Keeps New Day strong and would be a fitting end to a great reign.

So it was a 10 minute time limit. Nice and clear by WWE since that was announced. What was the harm in making it clear that come 10 minutes the match would be over?

Love that Neville will be part of the cruiserweight division. A place where he will thrive. Should put on some exciting matches with those guys.

Hate that The New Day lost to a thrown together team. They've just beat the record, the best team in WWE, why not let them lose the belts to an actual team like Anderson & Gallows? Why did they have to drop the belts right after breaking the record? They should have left it another month and lost the belts to a team that will actually benefit from the win.

Glad that Owens retained. Would have preferred it to be a clean victory, but not going to complain since one of my favourites still has the belt. Now they just have to book him a bit better and make his reign memorable (doubt they will though). And let's actually book Reigns to defend the US Title, yeah? He's like the most pointless title holder going right now. Half the time he doesn't even come to the ring with the belt. Have him lose it, or have him defend it. Not sure why they aren't booking him like how Cena was when he was the US Champion, as that was some of the best Cena booking in a long time.

The womens belt continues to hop between them. Now is the time to build up Bailey. They kind of have to now.

Yeah not sure why they weren't clear or didn't list it as an actual time limit match. The way they worded it made it sound like it could go on longer than that.

Not happy with who New Day lost the belts to either. They aren't going to be iconic like The Rock and Mankind, as good as The Rock and Stone Cold, etc. Even their story isn't as interesting as Bray Wyatt and Orton. So now we have 2 thrown together tag team champions. Just seems weird. Could have used this opportunity to give a good tag team a rub that's really needed in the tag division.

Owens reign has sucked so far. He's a great wrestler but everything seems to be focused on making his opponents look strong. He looked better when he's been chasing a belt, not defending.

I don't get why everyone was confused by the time limit thing. Thats exactly what I thought it was going to be. Foley said he has to last 10 minutes in the ring...
