Good production—very full-sounding and rounded. The bass presence is appreciated. At the end of the day, though, it's pretty generic "heavy alternative" stuff—the halfway-aggressive, pseudo-heavy alt-rock you'd hear in a WWE PPV promo or likewise. Oh, there's plenty of decent artists/songs out there that fit that description—this one isn't one of them, in my opinion. Major points off for the whiny-ass vocals and dull verses. Mind, the majority of bands of this ilk have dull verses, as they're somehow still trying to emulate early post-grunge "quiet build-up" verse structures—somehow missing the mark (usually) on both riffs and lyrics. The sad thing is, you're hearing some decent musicians who are probably trying fairly hard to make the verse measures work, but what I hear is mostly just that: a bunch of decent musicians trying to hook the listener with reverb-y guitars and groovy low-end. It's not a bad song, really. It's just par for the course and suffers from some the ever-popular angsty adolescent-sounding vocals. Which—again—I kind of get... this music gets marketed, mostly (last time I checked) towards pissed-off teens.
