So Wales are through to the quarter final!
I'm overjoyed and quite frankly stunned we're still in it.
We play the winner of Hungary vs Belgium and we already beat Belgium in qualifying so we know we can do it.

Can't defend this performance, just like how England can't defend at all. What a shit-show.

That was just woeful. English fans deserve better than that.

That was just embarrassing. Roy has to be sacked now, poor choices made by him throughout. And we need a goal, so we have Kane crossing the ball in? Do we not have a midfielder that could do that? Or a full back? Need our strikers in the box, no taking crossing free kicks. Just awful.
Anyone else wondering how on earth Portugal have made it to the Semis? They've been shit all tournament. They've won one game so far, and that was a 117th minute goal. Somehow, they find themselves on the road to the final still. I can honestly see them winning the whole thing now with just one win - just win the next 2 games on penalties and have an epic tournament winning record of W1, D6.

Yeah every game I have watched from them, I haven't seen anything remotely impressive. Just Ronaldo constantly missing goals 😋

Portugal have been dour. That goal in the 117th minute against Croatia was the first shot on target as well, what a terrible game. I fell asleep in the 2nd half of last nights game. Went to check the highlights this morning and there were two shots in 75 minutes.

Hmmm, I don't often get involved in conversations about professional sports, but just this once.....
WALES! WALES! WALES!
Portugal are going down! :-D

If Wales play like they did tonight, Portugal don't stand a chance on their form. It's just whether Wales can play like this or whether they'll defend and play like they did against England. Got to attack, today's performance was brilliant. Got to keep that up and Wales are in the final.
I still can't believe it. I've never been prouder to be a Wales fan.

I must admit, I do expect Wales to destroy Portugal on Wednesday right now...

Emphatic win for Wales last night. They played so well, tactics were down to a tee. Robson-Kanu's Cruyff turn was something else. Dude hasn't even got a club and he's pulling worldies on Premier League defenders.

One thing that's really annoying and quite frankly insulting is English media claiming all the welsh players who were born in England. England had their chance to pick these players, they chose not to. Those players represent Wales and people like Ashley Williams for example has been playing and living in Wales for almost a decade.
Also, it should be pointed out that a bunch of English players were not born in England, including Sterling, Hargreaves, Le Tissier, Terry Butcher, John Barnes and Zaha among others.

Not seen none of that myself. Can't really see how it matters either. Or how it's insulting. England didn't pick them, or they chose to represent a nation that they are allowed to - it's not like randomly picking Germany when you have no ties to them, there has to be some tie to the country that goes no further than a players grandparents or you have to have lived there for a min two years (for a UK owned team). There's no doubt some great players that could have selected Wales but didn't, same the other way. Does it really matter?
It's a pathetic attempt by the media (talksport, BBC have mentioned it among others) to make the Welsh success about England... just like the pundits have to mention England for five minutes at half-time of a welsh game despite England being knocked out. It's insulting that despite Wales success and England failure, the English media has to still make it about them.

I heard it from the Daily Mail mainly. It's a problem for us because As Rhys said, the media feel the need o make a the Welsh success all about England. An English friend or mine tried to point out that the "English" B team were doing well. He was only teasing, so there was no malice involved, but it was fun to point out that if he was going to say that, he should be calling it the A team!
Anyway, no matter what the English media and pundits say, it's a Welsh success, not an English one!

The only places I've now seen that are mentioning Welsh players that were born in England are only doing it tongue in cheek, as a whole "why England fans should support Wales" kind of thing. Not seen anything that I would class as being serious, just telling England fans that they should support Wales and joking that there's a reason to. Wales two best players are definitely Welsh anyway. Yeah... I still don't get what there is to complain about as all I've seen are articles that are clearly tongue in cheek ones about it to try and get England fans supporting Wales as well.
UEFA are harsh by the way. Wales have been told off for some of their players bringing their children onto the pitch to celebrate and told not to do it again - "It is a European Championship, not a family party."
Well Portugal are the most undeserving champions I've ever seen. Even Greece looked better throughout the tournament they won and Portugal have this year, and Greece didn't play well when they won. With the players Portugal have they should have performed a lot better, which is really weird to say about a team that has just won the whole thing.
They should never have gone further than the group stages. Why a few 3rd place teams go through now is beyond me. Surely they could add more teams in without having to do that? If you can't win a group match you don't deserve to go through. It was nice that it allowed Northern Ireland to progress, and at least they won a group game, but really no team finishing 3rd in a group of 4 should progress.
The only game where I thought they played okay was against Wales and I don't even think they were better than them. They might have scored 2, but Wales more than matched them and controlled the game more than Portugal did.
It really annoys me that they've won, simply because they don't deserve it and shouldn't have been there. And people have been right, allowing some 3rd place teams to progress did allow teams to play it safe and defensive knowing that they could progress without winning a game, which made for a poor tournament with a few teams standing out. The sooner they put it back to the top two teams in a group progress only, the better. It'll make for a better tournament as teams need to win to progress.
France just couldn't get it done against a team that lost their best player. They had countless opportunities and just couldn't put it away. They didn't deserve to win. Gotta hand it to Portugals goal keeper. That dude played outstanding.
Seriously tho France was by the Portugal goal almost the entire game and couldn't score one single goal? From what I understand France had the better players on the field. Ig Portugals defense just did a really good job

Boring final. Not much to say on it. Disappointed.
Portugal won 1 game in 90 minutes the whole tournament, and won it. Insane.

Wales will play either Turkey or Northern Ireland in the last 16, while England play the runners-up of Group F. That will be Portugal, Iceland, Austria or Hungary.
