Mid Card

View of a 16x16 wrestling ring smack-dab in the middle of a small arena holding no more than 450 people in it is shown with a small part in the crowd that almost looks like a mini-maze for the wrestlers to walk through from the backstage area to the ring and make their entrances.  Suddenly another camera comes flying out of the piled-up plywood that is the stage, through the silver curtains, down the makeshift rampway and into the ring to join none other than the lovable Nigel McGuinness with a microphone in his hand.   Nigel looks dapper with his sunglasses on from his TNA days and a suit.  He smirks a bit.

Nigel McGuinness:  Welcome one and all to the International Grappling Society.  We are LIVE in Reykjavik, Iceland and I am ready to deliver to you the absolute best professional wrestling your hard-earned money can buy!  I not only plan to deliver that this week...but, every week to come from here on out.  Ya see now, WWE, TNA, New Japan, AAA, even my beloved Ring of Honor have closed their doors along with every other promotion in the world in the past year or so.  We are living in a world where there has been a total upheaval of industry brick-by-brick.  Now, two promotions have risen from the ashes and one of those two gave me a call.  Me.  Of all people.  Now, without gettin too sappy about things, let's get to the WRESTLING.  Each match will ‘ave a 15 minute time limit with the main event having a 20 minute time limit.  Tonight, I give you four bouts with some amazing talent and I 'ope you enjoy.

Single:
Delirious vs. Facade
Facade is able to get in some early offense, but Delirious resists and has the upper-hand for the better portion of the bout.  Out of a sleeper hold from Facade, Delirious hits a headbutt directly to the sternum.  Delirious goes for a Cobra Suplex, but Facade elbows his way out of the rather vulnerable move and lands a huge Pele Kick for a 2 count.  Delirious is ironically rather delirious from that shot to the head and walks right into a C4, also known as the Spanish Fly from Facade for another very close 2 count!  Facade misses a signature Spinning Heel Kick to a seemingly out-on-his-feet Delirious which leads to the Cobra Suplex he was looking for earlier that earns him the 3 count and the win.
Winner:  Delirious via Pinfall.[~6:30]

The screen above the stage comes up to see the loveable Bill Alfonso with his favorite client, Mr. Pay-Per-View...Rob...Van...Dam.

Bill Alfonso:  Hey, Van Dam...look we’re here, baby, we’re here!  We’re finally here in IGS!  It doesn’t get any better than this does it?  It’s time for you to come in and dominate another wrestling promotion to it’s very breaking point and it’s time to give these fans what they really deserve…

RVD goes to do his pose as the fans can faintly be heard in the background joining him.

ROB...VAN...DAM.

Triple Threat:
Cheerleader Melissa vs. Becky Lynch vs. Cherry Bomb
Cherry Bomb gets the first near fall in the bout with a nice hurricanrana to Melissa.  Becky Lynch breaks up the count with a leg drop to the back of the head.  Becky tries to take control of the bout, but Cherry Bomb is able to hit a debilitating jawbreaker that sends Becky tumbling out of the ring.  This leaves Melissa the perfect opportunity to attack the recovering Cherry Bomb from behind and get the quick roll-up...but only a 2 count!  Becky Lynch recovers and Melissa pokes her head out through the middle and top rope to talk some trash, only to catch a European Uppercut for her troubles.  She turns around to see Cherry Bomb spinning around in the ring with a Discus Forearm to the jaw of Cheerleader Melissa, knocking her down hard.  Cherry Bomb goes for the cover, but again, Becky Lynch is able to break it up with another leg drop.  Cherry Bomb gets fed up and goes after Becky only for the Lass Kicker to sidestep her and hit a great looking German Suplex.  As Melissa is getting to her feet, Becky is able to wrangle her to the mat and lock in the Disarmer...Becky Lynch gets the win via Submission!

Winner:  Becky Lynch via Submission (over Cheerleader Melissa) [~9:00]

-Both members of War Machine begin to make their way to the ring.  Hanson and Raymond “Death” Rowe get a solid crowd reaction and appease all the adoring fans with their charisma and all outlying hands with a free high five!  The crowd seems like it couldn’t get any more amp’d...then two bomb-like fireworks hit the stage from above the ring signifying the arrival of the Dudley Boyz...Bubba-Ray and D-Von!  Bubba-Ray has a microphone in hand and immediately addresses the crowd along with War Machine, who is now waiting in the ring.

Bubba-Ray Dudley:  Cut it, cut the music.  Cut it.

The music continues to play for an agonizing five seconds or so which absolutely sets Bubba off and makes the crowd laugh at his unnecessary anger.

Bubba-Ray:  You know what?  Screw this, D-von.  These fans are absolutely worse than I thought they would be.  This promotion is starting in the toilet of the world and we, The Dudley Boyz...are not going to be putting our golden names on this sinking ship of a company.  Hell, we’ve been paid for this show already..so, screw ‘em.

Bubba walks up to D-Von and shoves him as if he’s calling for at least one table to go down in IGS.

Bubba-Ray:  D-VON!!!............WE’RE OUTTA HERE.

Joey Styles:  Folks, I’m not sure what to tell you here.  These damn Dudleyz have done it again.  As if you thought they couldn’t piss you off anymore, they couldn’t boil your blood anymore...they decide to go and do this.  To such a great up and coming team as War Machine too.  What a dream match this could have been.

Suddenly, the screen above the stage flickers up and Nigel McGuinness is seen backstage in his makeshift office, which looks more like a janitor’s closet with a single bulb hanging with a string to turn it on.

Nigel McGuinness:  While I may not agree with Dudley Boyz actions and decisions, I also cannot stop them.  I will, however, be stopping payment on their cheques, that’s for damn sure!  Now, on to you War Machine.  I know you two, Hanson and Ray Rowe...you two are great singles competitors and have become a very formidable as a tag team.  I want to send out a team that is very similar in that way but have yet to become as much of a force as you two have simply because of the lack of exposure they received initially.  Now that the International Grappling Society has opened it’s doors, hopefully that will change for these two great talents!  While they may not be the biggest wrestlers in the world, they may not be as established as War Machine, but one thing is true...they are...TV...READY!

Static takes over the arena and gets everyone’s attention for several seconds before the music of the tag team TV Ready starts up and BLK Jeez along with his partner Pepper Parks make their way to the ring for action against War Machine!

Joey Styles:  Oh my God!  It’s TV Ready!  Pepper Parks and BLK Jeez, the last ever All-Jersey Pro Tag Team Champions before “The Big Fold” as we call it around here.  War Machine, on the other hand, were the last ever Ring of Honor Tag Team Champions and were both in the finals of a Top Prospect Tournament in which Hanson won.  Such a great match between the two created instant respect and a very solid tag team.  This will certainly be an exciting bout...strap in your seatbelts ladies and gentlemen!

Tag Team Action
War Machine vs. TV Ready
Rowe and Pepper Parks start off with Pepper going behind Rowe as he went all in for the tie-up.  Parks is able to land a few forearms to the back that look to do damage initially, but Rowe soon gains his footing and stands up, starting to no-sell these shots.  Parks goes into the ropes and hits a nice clothesline, but still isn’t able to knock Rowe down quite yet.  He gets up and tags in BLK Jeez, who is already getting to the top rope and hits a Missile Dropkick, which sends Rowe into his corner hard, and allows Hanson to tag himself in.  Hanson rolls through both guys in TV Ready with clotheslines and body slams also landing a big Death Valley Driver on Parks, sending him out of the ring.  Hanson goes to finish off BLK Jeez with a splash, but Jeez moves out of the way and hits a Shining Wizard of his own.  Raymond Rowe has recovered by now and wipes BLK Jeez out with a Discus Elbow.  Rowe then picks Jeez up at dead weight for a back suplex as Hanson comes flying down from the top rope with a legdrop, nailing their finisher entitled The Fallout.  Easy three from here for Hanson over Jeez.

Winner:  War Machine via Pinfall. (Hanson over BLK Jeez) [~5:30]

-Adam Cole’s music hits and he saunters out in his t-shirt and trunks only ready to wrestle, but still with a microphone and a huge, arrogant smile on his face.  He talks to the crowd on his way to the ring.

Adam Cole:  Well, well, well.  You thought you’d never be graced with my presence again, did you folks?  I know each and every one of you was worried for the entire year that I was not seen on your television screen and it plagued your every waking thought, I know it did!  When you were doing laundry...you were wondering, “hmm...I wonder if Adam Cole is doing his laundry right now.”  Guess what, I wasn’t.  I don’t do my laundry, I have others do it for me...because I have better things to do with my life unlike you wastes of space!!  Because...I’m ADAM COLE, BAY-BAY!!

Main Event:
Single:
Rob Van Dam w/Bill Alfonso vs. Adam Cole
RVD and Cole circle each other both with their signature yet very distinctive arrogance and Fonzy’s whistle can be heard blown incessantly in the background as the two lock-up.  They trade waistlocks and headlocks for a few minutes until RVD gets the upper hand and tosses Cole into the corner of the ring right on his head.  Cole rolls through and stares at RVD from a kneeled position. Van Dam bows in front of him as he is watching art live much to the crowd’s delight.  Cole looks around, determined to win this crowd over by the end of the night.  The former Ring of Honor Champion moves in and does not quit.  He catches Rob off guard during an Irish Whip attempt that is reversed by RVD into an elbow directly to the nose by Cole!  Cole goes behind for a quick Florida Keys, but isn’t able to land it because Van Dam uses his momentum to roll forward as Cole picks him up and earn a two count for himself.  Bill Alfonso jumps up on the ring apron and argues with the referee that it was a three count as the two wrestlers rise to their feet.  Van Dam waves Fonzy off, mouthing “not yet” and goes for a spinning heel kick as Cole approaches, Cole ducks, and hits a Superkick of his own!  Close two count that almost ends it in Adam’s favor!  The clock begins to count down from two minutes on the screen above the stage and the wrestlers immediately begin scrambling for a cover, trading roll-up attempts for almost a minute!!  Van Dam lands a stiff kick to the face on Cole and goes for Rolling Thunder, but Cole rolls out of the way and is able to lock in the Figure 4 Leg Lock!  RVD is writhing in pain...but, the clock...the clock has run out!  The result is a time limit draw!

Winner:  Time Limit Draw [20:00]

Joey Styles:  Oh My God!  The match....it has no winner!  Nobody won, but Cole had RVD's number it seemed like!  I don't know what to make of this ladies and gentlemen.  I wish I could say I know what will happen next show and if we will even see these two next time we broadcast.  All I can tell you is that our next show will be Friday, May 6th 2016 in Ghana, West Africa!  There you will see a completely new set of International Grappling Society talent with a main event of Antonio Cesaro teaming with Fit Finlay to face off against Tommy End and BRAM in tag team action along with the IGS debut of the self-proclaimed World's Cutest Tag Team...Joey Ryan and Candice LeRae!  Tune in and find out what happens...I'll see you then!  Good night!

Iceland?? OK, then.

Delirious wins the opener. Can't honestly say I'm too familiar with Facade but I'll be doing some research.

Gotta love RVD and Bill and I'm sure they'll be a huge part of IGS.

I know who all the women are; but I don't think I've ever seen Cherry Bomb wrestle. Nonetheless, Becky Lynch won, which makes sense, she's clearly the biggest star.

Honestly, I thought The Dudleyz up and leaving was pretty hilarious. One of the highlights of the show.

Rhyno's gonna sue Hanson and Rowe for gimmick infringement btw. 😋 In all seriousness, I'm a bit more familiar with War Machine than with TV Ready although I do know all of these guys. I think I'm gonna need Wikipedia by my side when reading your shows incase there's someone I don't recognise. War Machine get the win and I would say are favourites for the tag titles.

Was totally expecting RVD to win the main event - but a draw with Adam Cole can't be a bad thing if it leads to a bigger match - with bigger stakes.

Overall, the show was a little short on storylines but that is to be expected for a first show. The matches were good, there was enough information in them without being too long, either. I look forward to seeing where Becky Lynch, RVD and War Machine go in particular.

The Blue Print

Iceland? That's such a random place to start a show! I don't know who Facade is, but I know who Delirious is. I don't really know what to say about the opening match, besides that I expected Delirious to win it.

It wouldn't be a show written by Fish if it didn't have RVD and Bill Alfonoso! Good to see some of your staples still to be around.

I don't know who Cherry Bomb is but I googled her and she is currently in TNA I guess under a different name. I remember Cheerleader Melissa as Alissa Flash in TNA and I always really liked her. But I'm a big Becky Lynch mark and I'm glad she got the win. That orange hair, I tell you what.

Did you originally have Bubba before I picked him up? If you did I totally did not see it, I'm sorry if I made you rewrite some stuff. But it was pretty funny to see them just walk out. What assholes.

Okay I have no idea who War Machine is or who TV Ready is. Man, I need to start watching ROH and some indies more often. I can't really say much about this match. It was just there. I'm hoping to learn more about these tag teams I guess through you shows!

Nice to see Adam Cole stroke his ego a bit. Big match up here against RVD though. Once again I'm not to familiar with Adam Cole. But atleast I've heard of him right? Time limit draw to end the show, good way to end the show though on a high note with a pretty intense match up. I feel like Adam Cole has alot to prove, beating RVD could do wonders for him. I don't think these two are done with each other yet.

Decent start up show here. I'm sorry that I couldn't comment more about the wrestlers I don't know. But hopefully I'll get a good understanding of who they are through reading your shows. Hopefully some storylines start to progress next week though. But this was more like an introduction show to the roster.
