Oddly, Steve McClaren has not only been appointed as Newcastle manager, but he's also got a seat on the board of directors. Hopefully this means that he actually get's a say in transfers. Would make a nice change. As for being manager, I think it's a good move. Most Newcastle fans still seem to be stuck on his shitty England time... but let's face it, most managers suck when it comes to England and it's invaluable experience really. He seems to get teams playing good football and out of all the managers we've had recently, he's been the most successful and most experienced. So I'm happy.

I'm more stuck on his shitty Derby end run.  Earlier in the season they seemed a cert for promotion and didn't even make the playoffs.

I hope he does well there but its going to take a lot to revive Newcastle to what they were.

We need so many players that it's ridiculous. Need 2 good centre backs, a left winger, a right winger, a striker and a centre midfielder. And that still wouldn't leave us with good squad depth, as a few injuries and we're back to using shit players or youth players who aren't ready. Just hoping that Ashley sticks to what he said and gives McClaren a good budget to spend wisely.

Being linked with Ince and Austin at the moment... so that's 2 of the 6 positions done that need filling, providing we can actually pull them off. Would be happy with them both as well, I think Austin has shown this season that he's more than good enough to be a Premiership striker.
