Really looking forward to this. No doubt the Swans will be targeting top 7 and I think we cab do it too. We've strengthened the side with Eder, Ayew and Tabanou at the very least.
We may have to let Leon Britton go as he wants regular football and the MLS are knocking. Really hope he stays though, he's a club legend.

Palace have done the deal of the summer imo with Cabaye
I was shocked that Palace got Cabaye, for £10m that's certainly going to be one of the signings of the season. Cracking price for him.
Schweinsteiger to Man United is also a great deal I think, really looking forward to seeing what he can bring to the Prem. Not sure what they need Schneiderlin for, but he's a good player as well.
Love that Newcastle have signed Wijnaldum, he's a quality player. Hopefully he can cut it in the Prem, although from what I've seen of him he should be able to. Brilliant talent and I'm glad we've finally signed someone to replace that creativity in midfield that we lost when we sold Cabaye - just a shame that it's taken 18 months to sign someone like that. If we get Austin and a new central defender in, I'll be happy. McClaren is a good manager so hopefully he'll be able to improve our fortunes... not that we could get any worse that that shit in the second half of last season.
Man, everyone is doing great deals except us. I like Sterling, but not for that money. We could have bought three Schweinsteigers for that. He's getting old now, but he'll still be quality for a good year or two. And somehow we let Clyne get away too! He would have been near the top of my list of important signings, we need right backs. Dzeko appears to be on the way out too, meaning we'll be lost when Aguero inevitably pulls his hamstring again. It's time to start calling up EDS players.
Also, giving Sterling the number 7 this soon was a dick move. As if we hadn't been shitting on Milner enough this year. It's only a small thing but when you refuse to sign the hardest working guy in the squad because he wants an extra year, then spend nearly £50 million on Sterling as a replacement...egh.

Delph to Man City for £8m. I like Delph and really hope he actually gets regular games at City - and the same with Bony. Bony is their second best striker and he should be playing at least every other game.

Jesus, Watford have just completed their 10th signing of the summer. I get the feeling that they're going to do a Blackpool and have too many players to put in the 25 man squad, resulting in players stuck in the reserves.
Couple of decent names in there but I don't think it'll be enough to keep them up.
Bournemouth have been pretty savvy with their signings though. Atsu, Boruc, Distin, King and Mings are all great signings for them.

You smoking crack? Those are some shocking signings. Atsu was the shits at Everton last season, can't cut it in the Premier League. Distin is 37 and his legs have gone. King & Mings have no Premier League experience. They paid £8m for Mings and he cost Ipswich £10k two and a half years ago. Seriously overspent on him. Boruc is the only half decent signing they've made.

Mings & King - true, they may have overspent on Mings but he's young and talented. and it's true, they might not have Premier League experience but everyone's gotta start somewhere - they've shown in the lower leagues they do have talent and it's not unheard of for players from lower leagues to come up to the Premier League and thrive. I'm sure they'll both have a decent first season.
Distin on the other hand may be ancient but he does have Premier League experience and they'll need as much of that as they can get. He's not an amazing player who's gonna blow everyone away but he'll do a job at Bournemouth and the more squad depth they have the better, especially when said player has PL experience.
Atsu - may not have had the best time at Everton but maybe in a smaller club with less pressure on him he'd do better... plus, he is at Chelsea - that doesn't make him automatically an amazing player but he wouldn't have got into the squad if he was the absolute shits.

Less than a week away from the new season! I can't wait.
Looks like Di Maria is off to PSG for £44m. I would usually argue that one bad season and selling the player on is stupid; but I think Di Maria wants to leave so nothing can be done really.
Crystal Palace have grabbed Connor Wickham for £7m. Good player for a realistic price which is rare to see these days.
So, roll on saturday where hopefully the Swans can get one over the champions at Stamford Bridge.

Palace have done some great business this window. I wanted Wickham at spurs as kanes understudy, so have watched him a few times.
Palace will surprise a few teams this year.
And we have our first shock of the season. West Ham beat Arsenal 2-0 at the Emirates. Did not see that one coming.
Newcastle drew against Southampton 2-2. A point was good, both sides could have won so I'm happy with a point. Defensively we're still weak, but our general play is so much better that what we saw for most of last season. If we can get another defender in then I don't think we'll be involved in a relegation fight like last season which will be nice.
Swansea cost me my bet yesterday, but the Agew goal was class. How cool he was to drag the ball to his left before putting the ball into the back of the net just shows how much of a good signing he could be.
That Ayew goal was great. If he keeps that up, then yeah, top signing.
I find it hilarious Arsenal have already fucked up.
Bit early, but I see the table turning out something like this:
1. Chelsea
2. Man City
3. Man Utd
4. Arsenal
5. Liverpool
6. Spurs or Southampton
And hopefully, the Swans can sneak in at 7th.

Some crazy results so far, nice to see Leicester in the top spot. United looked unconvincing, Chelsea too, and Arsenal flopped it. Makes me worry that City might have a rough start too.

City just mauled Chelsea 3-0 they're gonna walk if again it Kompany, Toure, Silva and Aguero stay fit and on form. Strongest spine in the league.
It's ridiculous though don't city have to abide to FFP anymore? They're about to spend over 100 mil on 3 players (Sterling, Otamendi and De Bruyne) if the reports are right and even if the report are wrong they probably could anyway. Weren't they facing FFP fines just last season?

For about three years, yeah. We proved our finances were good and now the restrictions have been lifted.
Not sure about this KDB rumour. It would be nice if it happens, but it's dragging on so long that it's hard to be too optimistic about it.

De Bruyne isn't worth what is being reported. Couldn't cut it at Chelsea and now a year and a half later he's worth £50m plus? If he's that good, Chelsea wouldn't have let him go for as little as £10m. He'd still be with them in or around the first team. If they sign him, it's £100m on 2 players - that's just ridiculous. Where would he fit into the team anyway?
Still don't think Sterling was worth anything near what Man City paid for him... they still vastly over pay for players, as ths De Bruyne deal will show.
Neither are worth the money, but they're both young enough to make a long term difference to the squad. All of our best guys are pretty old now, we need signings like these. Too much, definitely, but probably worth it.
As for the fair play caps, the whole thing was explained pretty well in this Daily Mail interview: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/footba … d-FFP.html

Leicester top of the league & Chelsea two points off the relegation zone. What a strange old season.

Kolo Toure managed to keep a clean sheet & score in Liverpool's game against Villa today He stands there, bends his head and the ball bounced off it and went in. Aston Villa might as well forfeit the rest of the season, they're no hopers. They've spent £50m on players this season, all French rubbish ones. This was the first time they lost by more than 5 goals at home and Toure has scored more goals than Eden Hazard this season.
Here's his goal, the marking is invisible.

The Villa fans already incensed by today's display. Joleon Lescott decides the best way to appease the fans is to Tweet a photo of a £120k Mercedes on his way home. He then says he didn't do it, his phone accidentally tweeted it whilst it was in his pocket. The same way Adam Johnson accidentally fell into a 15 year old Sunderland fan.

So the transfer window has opened for the new season and some teams are starting to take shape. Man United have started to build a squad that will be a real force this season, especially if they can add someone like Ramos to the defence.
Teams for this season are:
