I hope Hughes doesn't get it. He won't take them further and he has no loyalty as a manager at all, as shown by how he left Fulham. He was doing well there. Martinez could do well with a better squad, but I'm certain they won't pick either of these guys.
Now that they're no longer in Liverpools shadow, I doubt they'll go for a lower league manager again like they did when they appointed Moyes. Will be someone with Premiership experience.
How funny would it be if they appointed Benitez? He'd actually be a very good appointment for them.
As a Liverpool supporter id have to scream, NOOOOO at the thought of Rafa going to Everton... safe to say the Kop definatly wouldn't be chanting his name at the next Derby that's for sure haha
But, I do have to agree that he would do well for them, not that id ever want him to go there haha...

Mourinho?
No. Di Matteo?

Ferguson?
To be honest, everton will want martinez, and he'll be terrible. Martinez plays an open, passing game whereas moyes plays a pressing, defensive game. Everton will be bottom 5 with martinez.
The best fit for them is big sam. I can see them finishing 6th next season with sam and 13th with martinez.
Well QPR did just get relegated which means:

No chance with Harry, he wont move from the South Coast. He turned down Newcastle because of it, and Im certain he will turn down Everton if he gets offered the job.
Neil Lennon has been made the new favourite for the job, even though he has come out and refuted the claims

Lennons terrible. So i hope he gets it...
I was joking about Redknapp.
Why the fuck doe Mark Hughes keep getting employed? He's a horrible terrible manager.

Roberto Martinez was very careful not to say he would be at Wigan next season when asked after winning the FA Cup...

Probably will be Martinez. But Big Sam would also be a good choice.

Thanks Taker_2004 for the banner!

That won't happen as he's just signed a new contract with West Ham.
Jol was asked about it this morning and wouldn't rule it out, as he only has a year left on his contract.
Didn't know that.
Martin Jol? Oh god no, he's terrible.

Thanks Taker_2004 for the banner!
Jol is terrible. One of the worst spurs managers I seen at the Lane.
Big Sam is terrible, Martin Jol is good.
I think whoever they hire now Everton is just gonna fall because Moyes did quite a remarkable job with them. But how come Ive never heard much about Everton's exploits in the UEFA Cup (Europa league)? From where they end in the table they should be there every season.

I'm starting to think that Mancini would be a good fit for Everton. Can see how good he really is as a manager when he can't splash the cash around.
Martinez has announced he is leaving Wigan and has been given permission to talk to Everton

There appears to be 3 names surfacing as contenders for the job at the moment,
Bill Kenwright met with Roberto Martinez yesterday which has put Wigan on warning as they are awaiting on Evertons answer to know whether or not they have to look for a new manager
Vitor Pereira of Porto is apparently in the mix as he met with Kenwright last week
The third name that Kenwright has met with is the former Shalke coach, Ralf Rangnick and he did do well with Shalke in 2011 etc but my worry here would be that Rangnick stepped down as Schalke's manager due to exhaustion syndrome, stating that he currently does not have "the necessary energy to be successful and to develop the team and the club". This would be a concern for me, surely....

Big Sam is terrible, Martin Jol is good.
Explain that one for me.
I feel Jol is awful as he massively underachieved at Spurs, when he had a fantastic squad.
A fit Ledley King, England's number one keeper in Paul Robinson (who was in fantastic form at the time), Berbatov, Keane, Bent and Defoe firing up front, Michael Carrick pulling all the strings in midfield, Lennon flying down the wings, Kaboul coming thru.
Probably more as well. The squad we had then was better than the one we have now, much better in fact, and we only finished 5th. We should have been 3rd (at least) both season's we finished 5th. Watching games, he was tactically unaware, his formations never changed and were easy to pick off and work around, fitness levels were really, really bad and squad discipline was poor.
Add to that he was in charge of Ajax and took them to their lowest league position since 2001, and the biggest thing he has done at Fulham is sign Berbatov. Nothing there scream "good" to me.
Big Sam, whilst not a top manager imo, always seems to produce good results when given time at a club. He did great stuff at Bolton, and has done a decent job at West Ham. He wasn't given time at Newcastle, but I don't think that marks him as a poor manager. He was also decent at Blackburn.
So, looking at their histories, if Jol took over at Everton he would be overwhelmed by the club name and history and underachieve (as he did at Spurs and Ajax) and Sam would take over a club, make them play more functional football, which isn't a million miles away from what they currently play, and try and get Duncan Ferguson out of retirement.
If I was a Toffee there is only one choice for me out of the two...

Ralf Rangnick is the best out of those three. I don't understand the media hype about Martinez, he took over a team that had just finished 11th and proceeded to push them into the relegation dogfight. He has spent almost all of his time in the bottom 3 and would, imo, push Everton into the bottom half of the table. If Ralf has got his mojo back then he is a very good manager, and could eclipse Moyes there.
Martinez compensation deal has been agreed between Wheelan and Kenwright...

Well with David Moyes being officially announced as the new Manchester Utd manager, the question I guess is who will be the new Everton Manager..
One of the favourites coming out is Roberto Martinez, but this happened last year with him with Liverpool as well, so who knows..
Another name that threw his name in the hat was Mark Hughes after saying he would be interested
