Alien: Isolation

I'll be playing this tomorrow... i'll post a review and share my thoughts on the game for fellow Alien fans who are on the fence about this one..

It's not a gun em down shooter... it's a sneaking game...much like most of the games i post topics on.

Looking forward to seeing what you think of it. Like I said on Facebook, I've not seen great reviews of it... in fact they've been pretty poor. But then I know what a lot of critics are like and it really depends on individuals. You might really love it, hopefully you do as it's about time they made a good Aliens game.

I haven't beat the game yet, infact probably just barely midway through.. but i got a few things to say about the game...first off i think the reviews are misleading... this is a very unique game... you aren't gunning down anything you get a handgun with like 10 bullets max at a  time and the only thing you can really use it on are the occasional androids that show up...and even then you are better off sneaking by or making noise to get the alien in there.

The Alien itself is terrifying... when you hear him or the tracker is picking it up..you just feel this tension.. it's so hard to explain because there isn't very many horror themed games like this out there... closest thing i can think of is maybe Outlast and i doubt many people played that.... the alien is a big fucker too... instant kill.

I was hiding in a small room from some human bad guys who were wandering around and my tracker went nuts for the alien.. and one of the guards came over to the room i was in and the door opened up and suddenly the alien just came running after him and the door closed i watched my tracker and noticed the other two guards one after the other disappeared from my tracker after the alien ran up to it.. things got quiet i left the closest like room and found all the guards dead... with no alien left just sounds in the vents... that is where i left off... this game is awesome for fans.

but you need patience... it's a slow game and it's punishing due to the way the save points are structured... you could end up doing a lot of back tracking if you died and forgot to save... and the alien is totally unpredictable he is never waiting in the same place and sometimes he wont even come out if you got killed two or three times and take a slower approach... it's really cool

Ideal, glad you're enjoying it man. Also glad that some of the reviews are misleading - was hoping that it would be their usual bullshit where they crap on things just for the sake of being negative (unfortunately they aren't always wrong though).

Sounds cool though. One of my mates has it and was telling me earlier that he was crapping his pants playing it.

I bought it yesterday and have played for about 10 minutes. It's ok so far, not got to the alien part yet, just been getting used to the controls.

Hopefully it'll keep me interested longer than gta5...

It might... i don't really know what types of games you like though. hope you enjoy it! it's a little slow to start with but i think it's good cause it lets you get familiar with the controls and what every thing does.

I don't really play on my consoles much tbh, I loved red dead, and really like gta.  But I get bored really quickly...  massive fan of the films tho, so hoping I can stay interested until the alien shows up...

Might give it another hour tonight...

So, im on the 2nd ship now, just got changed, heard a noise and shit myself... Haha,  I think it's because I know it could come at any time now so I'm winding myself up. Liking the game the more I get used to it

I loved how the game made you wait a bit for the alien to arrive... just left you feeling tense the whole time... i haven't beaten the game yet.. it's a lot longer then i had expected it to be which is good... i haven't become bored of it... i still have the pre order dlc stuff to play through as well... the one where you get to play part of the first movie sounds fun.

also i think i might give this game a go on a harder difficulty on a replay... i think i like it enough to do that.

Well, I've played it longer than gta 5 already. Still liking it, not seen the alien yet, but only on about 90 minutes of game play so far.

Really liking it... especially how the first person aspect really draws u into the game

This game is very long! i thought i had it wrapped up last night... i wont spoil nothing.... but i guess i was wrong there is a lot of game left from where i assumed it was going to wrap up.

I hope this isn't a spoiler but i'm sure you are aware there are androids in this game... that's all i really got to say that and in some ways they are just as scary as the alien is... i don't like them much... those empty eyes.

Look's like a very graphically pretty game. I want to get this on the Xbox One for the cheevos but at the same time I want to get it on PC for how beautiful it apparently looks on there......... Decisions decisions!!! 😄

I beat this game a couple nights ago.. i forgot to post about it... i won't spoil anything for those who want to play it or have yet to finish it.

I don't think i really liked the ending... it was a lot of work and a lot of time to get there.. but it's kinda whatever... it does contradict the movie Aliens though.

That being said this is probably the best Alien or Aliens game i have ever played... these guys really took there time and put a lot of heart into making this game.. i don't think the game is for everyone though.. it requires patience and time.

The last few chapters in the game were brutally hard... probably one of the hardest games i've played in a while..  at times the game has no mercy at all.... doesn't really bother me.. i like a good challenge i didn't feel like it was cheap at all... the Alien has a very unique AI to it... seems to learn your playing habbits and uses it against you later on.

I really could go on and on about this game.. i wanted to point out though that as much as i like this game it does have flaws... but it's a very well made game that did get good reviews but two huge sites in gamespot and ign gave it bad reviews because they just didn't care for the game itself i guess.. i agreed a bit more with Gamespots perspective of the game then i did with IGN.... but my review score would be a bit higher because none of that stuff those guys complained about bothered me... it wasn't that bad at all.

Hopefully more people will play this game and enjoy it and maybe they can make a sequel or two.

9/10 a great game!

Sorry i didn't see this before.. not sure how i missed it earlier....

if i were you i'd just get it on the pc... i haven't heard of any major issues with it on pc and it probably runs a little better too... i've heard there is some crashing on the xbox one later in the game but i don't know if thats a widespread thing or just one of those things that happens randomly.

also i joined your group on facebook today... it seemed like a nice calm place to talk about games and such.

Massive fan of the series, but got bored with the game and put on far cry 3 for a bit, before getting bored of the 360 altogether again...

In the aliens game I got as far as the original ship flying away and leaving u stranded. The section starts as 'contact the' whatever ship name.

Might go back to it when I get some time, especially as I haven't even seen the alien yet... 😉

I would give a shot again sometime when you have few spare hours or just a rainy day situation.

the game becomes much more intense and faster paced once the alien drops down... you aren't too far away from his appearance .
