Official thread for all Premier League talk.

Man Utd are pretty much champions already. That much is settled.

I hope the Swans can finish in the top 8 but we have a tough few fixtures coming up. Spurs next and Utd and City at the end of the season so now's the time we need to try our hardest and get some crucial points. I'd be happy with a draw against Spurs on Saturday.

Also can't wait for next season with the possible inclusion of Cardiff (the more welsh teams the better 😋) and also European football for the Swans after their Capital One Cup victory.

Really can't see United being caught now. They'd have to lose most of their remaining games.

Just just hope that QPR get relegated. Can't stand them.
Want Wigan to go down as well just for their chairman. Usually quite like them, but after their chairmans comments over what a fair tackle is they can fuck off down to the Championship where they'll get rough tackles all the time. Sorry, but knee high tackles are not fair tackles, they're dangerous and shouldn't be allowed. How their chairman can defend them is unbelievable.
Then I don't mind who else, but if I had to pick it'd be Villa.

I reckon QPR, Villa and Reading. Wigan seem to know how to survive these days.

Swansea lost me a fair bit of money yesterday. Every other team won... trust the Welsh to ruin it for me  😋

Delighted with Newcastle's win today. I think my upstairs neighbours heard me screaming! Much deserved as we dominated play. And I must point out that Krul is amazing. Watch the highlights tonight before Wrestlemania to see why he's easily one of the best keeps in the Prem.

Almost God like? Maybe...

Who's gonna finish 3rd, 4th and 5th?

I'm hoping Spurs, Everton and Liverpool, but that may be unrealistic...

If I was going to bet, it would be

3rd Chelsea
4th Spurs
5th Arsenal

Hurts to put Chels above Spurs...

Arsenal will get 3rd I reckon. Tough to pick 4th place between Tottenham and Chelsea. I'd like Tottenham to get it though.

Hoping that Newcastle can get a win against Liverpool this weekend now that Suarez is suspended. Glad we don't have to play against that twat.

Its easier with Suarez because they are one dimensional with him.  Great player tho.

I think Arse will slip tbh.  They dont have a good squad, and I think they will drop points.

I wish it could involve Everton (sorry Belly) but unfortunately that's not happening. Bit wishful to put Arsenal in fifth too, but whatever! Going with Hilds' prediction, although I'm thinking the Chelsea v Spurs match will decide who ends up on top.

Chelsea Vs Spurs will be huge.  The winner will finish 3rd, the loser 4th imo.

Hoping Defoe starts and batters a couple of goals!!

3rd and 4th will be Arsenal and Chelsea. Arsenal are like the Wigan of the top 4 and have too much experience and the easiest run in, Chelsea's team is too good not to be in the top 4. Spurs have the most experience losing it and flopping at this point so I'd put my money on them finishing 5th. Although that win vs City did help them a lot, however drawing today was points they couldn't afford to lose.

People need to stop saying Arsenal gonna lose their top 4 place, they are too big of a club. Everyone's always talking about a power shift in North London but Spurs have had their best team I've ever seen the last 2 seasons whilst Arsenal have had their worst. But they are still competing at the same level with each other and Chelsea , even though Arsenal are obviously the weakest squad. Wenger deserves more credit than he gets.

Well that's QPR and Reading down after a boring 0-0 draw. You'd have thought that with the game being a lose or draw and you're relegated that it'd be a cracking game with both teams wanting to keep alive their slim chances of staying up. Instead there wasn't and urgency. Both teams had one good chance each and that was it. It was basically a showing of why these two teams have been relegated.

I disagree. If anything, Wenger gets too much credit. Maybe the team is the worst but who's fault is that? Wenger had RVP and sold him, and didn't bring in a good enough replacement. And in general, Arsenal refuses to spend like the other clubs so he can't expect to keep up with the rest of them.

It's like, when Swansea play Chelsea, Man U, Man C and Spurs, I think we'll be lucky to get a good result but against Arsenal and Liverpool I always feel like we can match them if not beat them (and we have done to both teams). So that shows how much Arsenal have fallen.

It's not only up to Wenger who stays and goes. He would've kept RVP and let him go for free but the board wasn't having it they would lose too much money, he was gonna keep Nasri but £25 mill was a shit load of money for him (which any team in the world would've done).

I don't really know ho to argue your second point. Putting Arsenal in the same class as Liverpool but saying Chelsea and Spurs are a tier above is ludicrous, it sounds to me like you let the media make your mind up for you. Arsenal are getting weaker by the year it's true but it's clear they are a top 4 team that's full of silly mistakes, pundits and journalists seem to bathe in Arsenals failure.

But yeah Reading and QPR seemed to have already given up, if either of them won they would've had a chance of survival. But that would've just held off the relegation for another week or two, both probably thought fuck it. Also, I think Chelsea will miss out on the top 4 on account of them having the least to lose if they miss out CL football, they have a squad good enough to win the league right there.

Finally Newcastle are safe. And despite what the dumbass commentators were saying during and after the game, it doesn't matter what happens when we play Arsenal now, we're mathematically safe, even though Wigan can still overtake us by goal difference.

Wigan play Arsenal on Tuesday, and let's just say they win. That'd move them to 38 points, with Newcastle on 41.
The key match is next weekend when Wigan play Villa, who are also below Newcastle but by a point. Only one of them can win, so one team will stay below Newcastle. And if they draw, Wigan stay in the relegation zone. So we're mathematically safe at last 😄

With Norwich winning (that was a real surprise), that means we're down to just 3 teams now that can be relegated. It's between Wigan, Sunderland and Aston Villa. Which one will it be though?

I saw Wigan. They usually start playing like the best team in the world around these times and always end up just scraping it, this season it looks like they swapped survival for a FA Cup and with Arsenal needing the win on tuesday it looks like a nail in there coffin.

I really hope Wigan can survive again, they're one of the most entertaining teams we have. The survival gimmick is like Undertaker's streak, I don't want it ending.

Could be a Premiership first after this weekend if results go the right way.

Arsenal win 2-1 and Chelsea draw 0-0 then they'll have identical records for the season, which means they'd have to play each other again to decide who finishes 4th for the final automatic Champions League spot.

Closest that we've gone to seeing this rule implemented, and the FA have talked to both teams about the date the match would take place if it had to happen. Would also have to be at a neutral ground, and Villa Park has been selected as it.

As awesome as it would be to see, I don't want Newcastle to lose to Arsenal so I half don't want it to happen. Would certainly be interesting though

Yeah, they even beat each other 2-1 at their home games. That's pretty crazy. Just about the only interesting thing left to watch for, since United won ages ago and now we know Wigan are down. Nothing really more to play for.

Well, it was an eventful final day. Fergie goes out with a game to remember and Swansea (unfairly) lost 3-0. We had so many chances it was unbelievable we didn't score. I think we had over 20 chances to Fulham's 5 or 6. Oh well.

City were terrible again. Pellegrini has to kick some asses when he gets there.

Gutted to miss out on Champs League, but confident for the future after we broke our record Premier League points haul.

Bale will stay, I have no doubt, and we'll sign a striker (prob Benteke now we are 5th).  AVB has had an immense first season, and will build from there.

I know it's the normal call of a Spurs fan, but next year will be big for us!
