Former WCW and Impact Wrestling star Daffney, real name Shannon Spruill, has passed away. There was a growing concern for her safety on Wednesday night during an Instagram Live session where she appeared to be holding a pistol and threatening self-harm. This prompted fans and wrestlers alike to attempt to contact her and alert local authorities.
On Thursday afternoon the SHIMMER promotion posted a statement from wrestler Lexie Fyfe provided by Daffney's family, confirming she had passed. A cause of death has not been confirmed.

Really sad news. Terrible to come across on Twitter. Anyone sees the video please report it, it shouldn't be out there.

RIP Daffney.

Mid Card

Such a sad thing to happen, the whole thing. It just gutted me yesterday. I didn't know much of her WCW stuff, but I remember her TNA stuff in the early 2000s. I lost a friend who was a huge wrestling fan I lost the same way a couple of years ago, and every time a wrestler dies it just brings me back to the time we were fans together.

You know how they have that meme of the big ole Royal Rumble in Heaven? Well I like to picture my bud Rich sitting front run, marking out the whole time. RIP Daffney 🙁

Once a man would spend a week patiently waiting if he missed a stage coach, but now he rages if he misses the first section of a revolving door.

Main Event

Damn! That's awful news! I remember her stuff in TNA fondly, I gotta admit. She was different during an era of blonds, busts and ass and that was something awesome. Such a heartache that she wasn't able to get the help she needed. I hope her family and friends will be able to find comfort during this time. RIP Daffney.
