He's being investigated for domestic abuse. So he's suspended, and if found guilty will be released.

These people described the situation as unfortunate because in the end, Swann's days in WWE could very well be over and in the end, if that happens, it will prove to be devastating to the couple financially. WWE's policy is to suspend any talent who is arrested for a domestic violence charge and if he or she is convicted in a court of law, they would be terminated immediately.

Apparently he was scheduled to win the Cruiserweight title, which was obviously nixed because of this.

I actually like WWE's policy for things like this. Keep them away whilst they sort things out, and if they're guilty wave goodbye. How things should be.

Indeed, it's a very solid policy.

Also, I heard the arrest was actually for kidnapping!

He apparently headlocked his girlfriend and put her back in the car after she got out in the middle of traffic. Still counts for kidnapping I guess but he didn't do it in the traditional sense.

Well, it was a case of forcefully returning someone to an enclosed space they do not wish to be in/are attempting to leave... so sure, I think "kidnapping" is an applicable interpretation. To the physical part itself, it seems it was a bizarre, public and one-sided form of situational couple violence.

It is kidnapping, sure. I'm just pointing out he didn't break into a house, stick a sack over her head and shove her in the back of a van, for those who didn't know much about the story.

Not that I want to nitpick, but it's more like abduction than kidnapping. There's a difference 😋

There's the word my brain was searching for but lost track of. That said, people take the first syllable in "kidnapping" way too literally. Criminal law in the States, UK, Canada etc. all use the term "person" in defining the victim. Age isn't a factor. In fact, "abduction" is a commonly used synonym for kidnapping. When the victim is a child, it may be referred to specifically as "child abduction".  The more you know!
