-- Earlier today during MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani, former WWE wrestler Jack Swagger announced that he has signed with Bellator MMA and will be debuting with the promotion in 2018 as a heavyweight.
-- Swagger mentioned that he's had aspirations of doing MMA for a long time and has been in negotiations with Bellator since the summer, but only finalized the terms of the deal this past weekend. He also added that he intends to continue his wrestling career in tandem with his MMA career as he has been on the indie scene since his WWE release.

Interesting one. I imagine he'll do better than Punk did.

Well he couldn't really do worse than Punk. Just throwing an actual punch means he'll have done better than Punk. Although he won't make anywhere near as much money as Punk did, so doesn't do better on that score.

I'll be rooting for him though. I hope he doesn't go overboard with his wrestling though. Lashleys Bellator fights have been pretty boring for the most part. He uses his main strength in wrestling and then hammers away. Great. Use your strengths, it makes sense. But he doesn't seem to have evolved on from it. Add more to your game. I don't want to watch a Swagger fight and just expect him to take the guy down and that's it.

I'm probably asking for too much though. If I was in their situation, I'd be using my strengths as well. Just doesn't add much excitement when that's all they do. Mix it up occasionally (Lashley might have changed recently as I can't remember the last fight of his I saw, so if he has then good on him).
