WWE Hall of Fame 2017

The HOF is a sham. So many deserving guys and gals not in there, so many in there that don't deserve to be.

The whole thing annoys me every year when it's mentioned. It could be a huge (well, bigger than it is), if it was purely a celebration of wrestling. Make it like a museum where fans can go see wrestling memorabilia and and actual physical hall of fame that includes wrestlers and wrestlers only. I mean what have people like Trump done for wrestling? It's insulting to the people that deserve to be in it that someone who has done fuck all for the business are in a wrestling "hall of fame". Makes the whole thing a joke.

Seriously tho WWE, sort it out. Actually make it something, as it's meaningless right now. It would be so cool to see something special for it like I mentioned. Hell, if I go to America again I'd pay to visit it. Sure they'd have shit-loads to see that people would find interesting.

It has become a sham.  It used to be a big deal before they opened it up to the public for a cash grab and made a show out of it.  It was nice when it was just a banquet and everyone made speeches for the boys, but it was recorded and it came with the WrestleMania DVD and sometimes it was separate.  The 2004 one is my favorite, it's separate from the DVD but Bobby Heenan's speech alone is worth the buy.

The fact that Chyna didn't get in before she died is an absolute shame.  Eddie should not have gone in the year after he died.  There are so many more that I would've done differently at different times...I just can't think of them on the spot.

That being said.....DDP is a great choice to go in both for his in-ring contributions and for his DDPYoga saving several wrestlers in their later years.

I'd like to see The Bulldogs, Rock 'n' Roll Express, and Vader.

The Hall of Fame isn't meaningless. Does it have some inductees that shouldn't be in? Sure. Is the Celebrity Wing a big fat joke? Sure... but it still has the best of the best in it, and just because some guy you marked out for isn't in the Hall of Fame, doesn't make it meaningless.

Anyway, Vader and DDP are both choices I'd love to see go in. Who would you guys pick as the headline for this year?

I think The Rock is a real possibillity.

I'm kind of surprised that the Rock isn't in the Hall of Fame yet. DDP is a good choice and I would like to see Vader. Since he's dying and shit.

It is a bit of a joke though Rhys, even if you take out the celebrity wing which is incredibly pointless. There are guys that I have never been a fan off that should be in there that aren't, as well as guys that I did like that should be in there.

When you have guys like Abdullah the Butcher, Nikolai Volkoff, Bob Orton, Rikishi and Koko B. Ware in there ahead of so, so many more deserving guys, it's a joke. Never been a fan of Vader, but should easily be in ahead of these guys. No Owen Hart, British Bulldogs, Chyna (urgh, but deserving)... some of the guys that really deserve it aren't likely to even be alive by the time they get inducted with the way older wrestlers have been dying in recent years. Should be getting them in now whilst they can still give a speech and get a clap from the fans.

It has some of the best, and some of the worst. It's a hall of fame, it's meant to be people that have been outstanding or given a meaningful contribution. I can't stand Hogan, but at least he deserves to be in there for meaningful contribution (certainly wasn't based on wrestling ability! Did have multiple title reigns though). Then you have someone like Mil Máscaras, famous for not selling moves - what was his main accomplishment according to WWE? Máscaras was the first masked wrestler to perform in Madison Square Garden.

To me DDP deserves this based on his post WWE career helping some of the older guys getting healthy. Great work by him.

The good inductees vastly outnumber the bad inductees, and all those people you mentioned will no doubt be inducted, with time. When you can name say 50 people who should be inducted and they can only induct 7 or 8 a year, there's gonna be a backlog. I agree they should drop the celebrity wing and make better choices but it's still a respected achievement in pro wrestling.

And whether you like him or not, Mil Mascaras is a legend of the buisness.

Saw some reports yesterday that Angle would be at Mania. And he will be... As a hall of fame inductee.

Glad to see Angle in the HOF, I would love a few matches with him in the WWE though too.

I'm sure he will at least have a retirement match in WWE, if nothing else.

I wish she'd return. Although knowing WWE they'd have her feud with Nia Jax and it would be treated like the Big Show against Khali. At least it would be a far superior match. She retired way too early though, but can understand her reasons for why. Definitely one of the more talented women wrestlers that WWE have ever had.

WWE just announced that the late "Ravishing" Rick Rude will be inducted into the 2017 Hall of Fame later this month.

There's the dead wrestler added. Good addition really.

Kurt Angle has confirmed that he's being inducted by John Cena.

Jesus, really? They know that Cornette doesn't know what PG is right? Surprised he'd do anything with WWE either as he's been quite vocal in past years about them - not in a good way.
