There's only a couple more episodes of this left and its been great so far. It seems to meander between True Detective, CSI, Law & Order & Oz.
There's so many HBO lifers who pop up from other HBO shows. Janice Soprano turned up for one scene a couple of episodes ago.
Even stranger, Eastenders alumni Tariq (remember him) has appeared in a couple of episodes as a silent partner of a taxi.

Caught the first episode of this new HBO show. I think it was aired early to get some buzz on it. The first episode is 1 hour, 20 minutes but the time flew by because the episode was so gripping and intense.
It stars Riz Ahmed (Nightcrawler) who plays a student called Naz. He steals his dad's cab to try and get to a party. He unexpectedly picks up a girl in his cab, they party, go back to her place. They continue having a good time, Naz falls asleep, awakes to find the girl bludgeoned in her bed. He makes his escape but through circumstance he gets picked up by the police. He gets taken to the police station but through more circumstance he's getting arrested for the murder.
I have no idea where this is going because the main character is only listed for two episodes. The show is supposed to be based on a UK show called Criminal Justice which I haven't seen. James Gandolfini was originally going to play the part of Riz's lawyer but obviously can't now. John Turturro is now cast in his place. Michael Kenneth Williams is also in a trailer so will appear somewhere down the line.
