Wales, all the way! (I can dream)

Wales? You mean "Bale and the ten other players on the pitch" right? 😉
Roy has lost the plot. Jack Wilshere?! He's played 2 games all season. TWO fucking games! That get's you an England call up now? Seriously? He'd better be one of the players left behind - he said he's name the 23 man squad and then names 26.
Best part is what Roy said about why Walcott isn't going - "Theo hasn't had as many games at Arsenal."
Wilshere will be waving at Theo as he leaves on the bus to join the England team, giving him the 2 fingers whilst mouthing "two fucking games Theo"
Joe Hart, Fraser Forster, Tom Heaton
Gary Cahill, Chris Smalling, John Stones, Kyle Walker, Ryan Bertrand, Danny Rose, Nathaniel Clyne
Dele Alli, Ross Barkley, Fabian Delph, Eric Dier, Danny Drinkwater, Jordan Henderson, Adam Lallana, James Milner, Raheem Sterling, Andros Townsend, Jack Wilshere
Wayne Rooney, Harry Kane, Jamie Vardy, Daniel Sturridge, Marcus Rashford
That looks insane to me. I get throwing Rashford in there, but Wilshere? Henderson? Delph has barely played all year.
GK - Hart, Forster, Ruddy
RB - Clyne, Walker
CB - Cahill, Smalling
CB - Jagielka, Stones
LB - Rose, Baines
CDM - Drinkwater, Alli
RM - Walcott, Milner
LM - Sterling, Lallana
CAM - Rooney, Barkley
ST - Kane, Sturridge
ST - Vardy, Rashford
I'd also pick Shelvey, Dier and Ox over Delph and Wilshere. Lingard has been alright too.

See, I wouldn't have Shelvey anywhere near the England team. He can pass brilliantly, but he also goes missing completely in games - very inconsistent. Can see why Swansea were willing to sell him to us. But that said, I'd have him in there over Wilshere this season every time. I just can't work out how he's been picked.
Delph has barely played. Sterling has had a very poor second half of the season and hasn't started much that I've seen. Stones hasn't had a good season at all. Henderson has played half a season - but at least it's a lot more than Wilshere.
Lingard has surely done enough for a call up. Michail Antonio for West Ham has surely done enough - I think he's the best English winger for goals and assists this season. Noble as well has done brilliantly for West Ham. Some real good players left out that deserve to go more than players that have hardly played.
I can't believe we're only taking 3 central defenders as well, one of which hasn't had a good season at all. I know we're not blessed with great central defenders, but surely we could find more than three?
No Noble, Lingard, Dier but Wilshere lol. Even Routledge deserves it more than Wilshere. Has to be one of the most overrated Englishman in years.

Ooh, I didn't put Noble in my squad. That makes things difficult.
Stones gets in by default really. I have no idea why Roy didn't pick Jagielka, is he hurt or something?

Nope, he's just decided not to pick him. I really can't understand why he'd only pick 3 central defenders though. I'd be okay with Stones going if there were 4 central defenders but he's been in shit form this season - Everton have actually done better when he's not playing. No doubt he'd a talented kid, but he's been so poor that I wouldn't have picked him. So what we have is one player who's old, one young and in poor form, and one who's started to play well but really isn't that good. Great.
Yeah, it's no good. I still think Cahill and Jagielka are the best pairing we have, which is sad. I'd consider using Jagiekla, Stones and Baines at the back for the familiarity, but with Everton's defensive record this year that might be suicide.

Lost a lot of respect for Hodgson today. Appalling decision to leave Drinkwater out - how the hell does Wilshere and Henderson get in the team ahead of him?! The guy was a key part in helping Leicester win the league and maintained his form all season. He absolutely deserves to be on that plane. Just further proof that form really doesn't matter as much as they make out.
He's an idiot. Quicker England sack him the better. Picks name value, not form.
And in my opinion, Jack Wilshere doesn't even have name value... he has to be one of the most criminally overrated players in the League.
I can't help but feel a bit happy though. When Wilshere inevitably gets injured it'll only help Wales' chances lol.

I'd be very surprised if Wilshere isn't injured by the end of the tournament. Waste of a plane ticket, he is. Massively overrated, he's like the next Kieron Dyer, just with less attacking flair (but he does have the bonus of never throwing a punch at a team mate during a match like Dyer did).
Surprised at the inclusion of Sturridge as well - although it's a bit more understandable as at least he can put the ball in the back of the net. But with Kane and Vardy the two most inform strikers in the league, and Rashford doing very well for himself, is there a need for Sturridge? Let him rest and build up his fitness for next season, as he's another one that could very easily leave England short of players.
I am actually hoping that Wales do well... just not at Englands expense.
Payet stole the show last night to get a winner against Romania for France.
Switzerland are beating Albania 1-0, Albania have ten men.

There's already a thread but Benny can merge it.
I'm surprised how competitive the minnow teams are. Romania only really lost after a wonder goal and they missed some sitters. France can't defend set-plays for the life of them and Evra can't defend at all. He must have made 3 fouls in dangerous positions in the first half which were waved away.
Then even with 10 men, Albania were taking it to Switzerland and they missed at least 2 prime chances. Switzerland have got quality but fairly blunt up front. Sommer made some great saves to keep Switzerland in it but he is quality keeper. Switzerland do produce some good keepers with Wolfsburg's Benaglio & Dortmund's Burki also in the squad.
Wales/Slovakia look fairly equal in ability so will be a tight game.

Wales played pretty well and deserved the win. Skrtel is lucky not to have been sent off.

Merged the two threads.
England were very unlucky last night. Sterling really is shit though. He doesn't seem to bring anything to the team. He had a great opportunity before the end and he was free, but then slowed right down to think about what to do and lost the ball. How about just run towards the goal and shoot!
Watching the Northern Ireland game at the moment - I'd quite like to see them do well.
Left wing has always been a problem for England. Sterling was poor, he's got the pace but no end product. They should have brought Vardy on to give us more firepower. What was the point of sticking on a 1-0 lead, when Russia didn't even have a shot on target since the 18th minute. I was surprised how well they played though. It was slick, energetic & attack minded. If we play that way in our next games, we should get 6 points.

UEFA: Association Threatens to Disqualify Russia and England From Euro 2016 Over Fan Violence
European football's governing body said both teams face potential sanctions, including disqualification, if the violence that took place before and after the teams' matchup on Saturday occurs again.

Pretty harsh on England really. Been attacked by french "fans", been attacked by Russians... yet England are could be punished. Yes, some people took things too far throwing bottles at police, but the police were doing fuck all to help - teargassing people at the slightest hint of trouble is just making things worse. I know some french people and they all say that the police over there are very heavy handed and that's shown.
The Russians in particular are just awful. The World Cup in 2 years time is going to be horrendous. Will be the most racist and violent World Cup there's ever been I reckon.
Maybe it was instigated by French or Russian fans but I bet some English fans were more than happy to join in the fighting. From UEFA's point of view, I doubt they can single out any particular set of fans and have to punish everyone involved.
Regardless of who's to blame though, this type of violence during a sporting event is ridiculous. There's no place for it and all it does is encourage more violent behaviour, especially when we know about all the security measures they've taken to stop terrorist attacks.
The way I see it, any "fan" who starts or joins in any sort of violence (defending themselves or their family from harm being the obvious exception) then they are not any sort of fan at all.

Jogi Low, you dirty bastard!

Saw that. Absolutely hilarious. 😄 How do you forget or just not care that you are on international live television.

Easy win today. Robbie Savage is an annoying toss-piece but everyone already knows that.

Four months to go, and Sky Sports have taken a look at an England team made up of the best performing players in the league - I actually like the looks of the midfield and strikeforce, but not so keen on the defence.
Goalkeeper
Jack Butland - Stoke
Defence
Charlie Daniels - Bournemouth
Scott Dann - Crystal Palace
Craig Dawson - West Brom
Simon Francis - Bournemouth
Midfield
Ross Barkley - Everton
Dele Alli - Tottenham
Danny Drinkwater - Leicester
Mark Noble - West Ham
Striker
Harry Kane- Tottenham
Jamie Vardy - Leicester
That is statistically Englands best team if they play a 4-4-2 formation. All apart from the defence, I like it. Would prefer Clyne at right back and replace Dunn with Stones. Actually, I think I'd also swap Dawson for Cahill as well.
Anyway, who do people think will win the Euros this year? It'll probably be between Spain and Germany.
