Neymar has told Barca that he wants to leave to go join PSG. Fed up of being in Messi's shadow and doesn't think he'll be able to win any personal awards like best player whilst playing in the same team as him.
It's been hilarious watching this saga unfold.
La Liga said that they were going to block the transfer because of FFP. FIFA have told La Liga that they can't block the transfer because it has nothing to do with them, it's between clubs whether they accept offers or not. They also pointed out that FFP is a FIFA issue, not a La Liga one, and that they would be monitoring it.
They can't block a transfer because of FFP, because FFP is worked out over 2 years and based on profits, they can't judged whether the transfer breaks FFP until that time frame after the transfer is over and based on their profits during that time, pointing out that if they sell a load of players during that time for good money then they might not be breaking FFP at all.
Personally think it will be tough to do, once you figure in wage and agent fees. The transfer is meant to be £195m to get his release fee. Agent fees and the reported wage mean that it will be around half a billion spent on this one transfer alone over a 5 year period. Absolutely fucking crazy.
PSG are trying to get the payments in staggered amounts. Barca are sticking to their "we don't want to sell" line and they don't have to unless PSG meet the release fee in full. Staggered payments won't activate the clause as it has to be met in a full one payment.

Sorry, it's loses of more than 30m Euros over 3 years, not 2.
And La Liga have rejected PSG's bid according to Sky Sports just now. Think they'll be in trouble with FIFA for that, given what FIFA said yesterday about La Liga having no right or grounds to have a say in this transfer.

And despite La Liga rejecting it, Barca have confirmed that they've received an offer for the full amount.
"On Thursday afternoon Neymar's legal representatives visited in person the club's offices and made the payment of 222 million euros in the player's name with regards to the unilateral termination of the contract that united both parties.
"As such, the club will pass on to UEFA the details of the above operation so that they can determine the disciplinary responsibilities that may arise from this case."
Now not really knowing in great detail how football transfers work with regards to lawyers... it's a bit odd to me that Neymars representatives visited with the full payment. Shouldn't it be PSG's representatives/laywers that turn up with the payment?
Not sure what Barca are passing on to UEFA either. Seems like Neymar is buying out the contract from what I'm hearing, with PSG paying Neymar back - like a loan repayment on top of his wage.
This has been one of the most talked about transfers of the Summer and it doesn't seem like it will end anytime soon.
Appears that we're bidding on Deportivo La Coruna striker Florin Andone after having our attempts at signing Wood from Leeds rebuffed. Would have liked Wood, good striker from what I've seen of him and he knows how to score. He has a record of something like 1 every 2 games, which is impressive. Hopefully Andone will be good though. Need a good striker.

So Gylfi Sigurdsson has gone to Everton for £45million. It's a huge blow for us, but I'm glad the situation is over with and now we have the money to reinvest. Last season, we sold some big players and failed to bring in good replacements and it nearly cost us Premier League status. I hope this time we do it right.
Rumoured names we are interested in: Wilfried Bony, Joe Allen, Scott Armstrong, Nacer Chadli.

According to Sky Sports, you've agreed a £15m deal for Woods. His scoring record at Leeds is impressive.
Got him. Not complaining about £15m either. I think he's class and we finally have a striker that can score. Can't wait to see him playing for us.

Swansea City have agreed a fee with Hull to sign midfielder Sam Clucas.
The 26-year-old still needs to agree personal terms and pass a medical.
It is understood that a deal for Clucas will see Swansea left back Stephen Kingsley switching to the KCOM Stadium in part exchange.
We had a 12m bid rejected, and rumours are the final deal was £18m + Stephen Kingsley part exchange.
Stephen Kingsley is a young left back for us who is pretty good and it's a shame to see him leaving but Clucas seems like our type of player and has scored in every division in the football league so I think he is a good first signing to fill the Sigurdsson void. We need a couple more signings of course.

Sky Sources understand Swansea are about to agree a deal for Renato Sanches on loan. What a grab that would be!

Would be a cracking signing. Well, providing he kicks on and works hard. Something has clearly gone wrong with his move to Bayern as he was being talked about like he was the next Ronaldo. Would be good to see him do well in the Prem though.
On the down side... seems like talk of Llorente to Chelsea is back on.

If we get all our rumoured targets in Sanches, Bony and Chadli, I'd be willing to let Llorente go.

Huge deals going on today.
We're meant to have made a bid for Wells, to further our striking options.
Swansea have confirmed the signing of Sanches, which is just a massive signing even if it is just a loan. They've also bid for Bony, whilst agreeing to sell Llorente to Tottenham instead of Chelsea.
Man City are bidding for Alexis Sanchez, who Arsenal are reluctant to let go, but it's seeming more and more likely that he will leave before the deadline.
Liverpool have signed the Ox from Arsenal, despite Chelsea bidding for him. Second player that Chelsea look to have missed out on on the final day.
Mahrez has left the Algerian national team to try and get a transfer done, despite no one bidding on him since Leicester rejected a bid from Roma over a week ago. At the moment, no one knows who he's trying to get a move to, and Leicester don't want to sell this late as they won't be able to get a replacement in for him.

Him and Llorente up front would be lethal. I hope it happens.
