Can't wait for this. Love UFC, and it'll be interesting to see how he does. I think he's done the right thing though in taking his time training and making sure that he's ready - not everyone can or will be like Lesnar and and the natural ability to just jump straight into the top. I do hope Punk does well though, I'm sure he'll have a lot of the wrestling world watching him.
On a side note, I love the suit he's wearing in the pictures above.
The fight has been delayed - Punk has a herniated disc in his back so needs surgery. There'll get a point where people will just lose interest, I know this one isn't his fault, but it's taken this long just to get an opponent named and now there's another delay.
Only time I'll ever watch UFC 😋 I hope he does well, I love it when a wrestler does well and it pisses off all those MMA fans who hate wrestling.

Fight's 3 weeks away. UFC have started airing their Evolution of Punk show.
I'm betting on Punk to pull another Eva Marie right before the fight.
That was a really cool video. He has a lot to learn, so it's no wonder he's kept the date of his first fight back as long as possible.
Thought it was quite cool that he said he quit wrestling because he wanted it to work out with AJ. Sure that wasn't the only reason, but it's a good one.
I'll be surprised if he wins his fight, but I will be rooting for him.
Part 2. Punk looks really rough.
Episode 1: I can drive to Wisconsin everyday to train.
Episode 2: Punk moves to Wisconsin because its too far to drive.
Episode 1: AJ Lee doesn't like to see Punk get hurt
Episode 2: AJ Lee goes to watch Punk get beaten up by an MMA fighter.
This was quite the series. I hope Micky get's the spit knocked out of him! :-P

Seeing a lot of hate towards Punk today. Not sure why - yes he got owned, but he's had the balls to make a huge step up in career choice and fought a guy that's a brown belt in Jiu Jitsu that utilised that strength straight away. And afterwards he hasn't shied away and is ready to get back to training to go again. It's a huge learning experience for him.
So he didn't earn his place in UFC. Who cares? It's a business and UFC have always been about making money. CM Punk has brought loads of attention and a shit ton of money from last nights PPV. That makes it a success for UFC.
If I got the pay for Punk's fight that he got, I'd walk into a handicap match against the entire UFC 203 roster. It'd take balls to start on a small circuit and build your way up without making any money, but this just took greed and a huge fucking ego because he really thought he was better than everyone else. The guy is incredibly delusional, full of himself, and an embarrassment to wrestling and MMA.
That is true, it was a bit arrogant to say he would be coming back, when no-one asked if he would. If you can't beat a UFC newcomer (or at least throw a punch), drop down a level or two and fight against less skilled fighters. Get actual fight experience and if you improve, see if you can go back up.
Mickey Gall (2-0) has been lined up to be CM Punks first opponent in the UFC.
Gall beat Mike Jackson in 45 seconds at Fight Night 82 to set up the fight with Punk.
Gall has only had a few fights but seems to like the rear naked choke submission though. Punk is an unknown quantity, there are so many questions about his abilities which can only be answered on fight night.
